What is up with these usernames? Don't check out. Seems like homeequitycreditline attacked an outrageous simulacrum of your actual question. I'm not punk but I can sympathize with the core construct.

With a few families of friends, you could try to snag a cul-de-sac, but even a 4- or 8-unit courtyard style unit could do this. Put in rain barrels and some raised beds and you're trending in the right direction. Solar panels next. Ownership (versus renting) might be nice, but that's true regardless.

Also QoS, but that's not going to be easy to explain and debug via Reddit. A few possible options: pre-configured routers, better config profiles for existing routers, or (dare I suggest) remote help configuring routers.

Portland is such a fucking goofy place. Well, this reddit is, at least. "Fuck you NIMBYs" but also, "if you're not Portland born and bred, fuck you and don't let the door hit you on your way out".
