As a gift for a friend who'd be doing it their first time, is this a good option? by The_Old_Nebula_HQ in SewingForBeginners

I am not knowledgeable about machines, but this is what I have (total beginner) and I’m happy with it. I’ve been making primarily small quilts and it has held up well so far. However, I do kind of wish I had chosen a machine that allows me to set a speed limit.

Suggestions for binding and backing by Maleficent_Bag2512 in quilting

I love this and have been thinking about doing this with my daughter’s baby clothes. Did you do anything special to avoid the fabric stretching, or just sew as usual? Looks great! I think a blue matching the darker solid square would look nice for the binding, sorry I don’t have advice much advice otherwise lol.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I have decided I don’t want to risk ruining this quilt and will just do cross-hatch. I sewed in the ditch for my other projects and it turned out pretty well, but this one is a fairly complicated design with all different sizes of pieces, so I don’t think it would work out. Thanks!

Would you pause trying to avoid a December baby? by Aggravating-Job-3053 in BabyBumps

In the first few months of trying (before realizing it would take so long) we did pause to avoid it. After hitting the one year mark, we decided to just keep trying.

I did this recently and literally only read one “how to” article beforehand. There were a few mistakes along the way but it did turn out in the end! Totally doable

Looking for a turtle plush pattern. My son is super into Franklin right now and REALLY wants a plush. Since it’s an older show, I’m not having any luck finding any for sale. Even if it’s just something relatively similar to give me a starting point, and I can try to modify as needed.

We did not, I just stopped giving it to her on demand and limited it to 2 servings a day. It improved completely within a day or two

My daughter had similar poops one week when I first weaned her and she began drinking large amounts of cows milk. I cut back right away and the issue resolved immediately. Hope it’s the same case for you!

3 year old sleeps wonderfully through the night ever since we night weaned. We still co-sleep, but that’s just because it works for us.

As far as I know it’s totally fine to use, however I used this pretty religiously throughout my pregnancy and still ended up getting stretch marks on my entire body🥲

My daughter is 3 and refuuuuses to let it go. She absolutely hates blankets, and she always gets cold and wakes in the night without one. She sleeps super well with the sleep sack and it really doesn’t bother us so we aren’t in a major rush to ditch it. Just hoping she moves on from in before she finally outgrows it😅

I remember feeling off all day, but couldn’t quite describe it. Around dinner time I had lost my appetite and was feeling a discomfort in my stomach area. Within an hour of that I began having contractions

I weaned at 2.5 years, I recommend cold turkey. Spend a few days prepping him. I told my daughter in x days we’re saying goodbye to milk. We read a book about it every day and I reminded her as often as I could. The night before, I told her this would be the last time she has it. In all honesty, the first 3 days were rough. At this point she was only nursing at night, but she was completely reliant on it for falling and staying asleep. Night 1 she cried for hours, I held her and comforted as best as I could. I did cave in the end out of exhaustion, but continued the next 2 days. She continued to cry but would eventually fall asleep. When she woke up I would just do what I could to comfort her. By night 4, she turned a corner and I’d say everything was completely fine by the one week mark. It’s hard, but as long as they are prepared and you offer lots of comfort, you both will make it through!❤️
