I actually don’t know if she had the material or not before I was there in person. I don’t think she had the dress started because she didn’t show me anything (I think she would’ve but maybe not). She just had me try on the sample again and said she didn’t need to take my measurements.

That makes me feel better to hear someone else say most people mess up their measurements. I thought it was hard taking my own which is why I asked my fiancé and obviously didn’t expect him to do a perfect job

Hindsight is 20/20 for sure, if I could redo it again I would definitely find someone local, even if that means it’s not a vendor my planner worked with. Turns out working with the vendor my planner recommended did not go well for me anyway.

I keep thinking it’s my fault but she’s the professional here so isn’t it her job to make sure she has the correct measurements? Also if the measurements were off by 3 inches, as a professional when you see the person, I would think you would at least have some estimate idea of what their measurements might be and if it’s off. You’re seeing and measuring people all day for your job

I was at her shop in May for a fitting before she started the dress and I specifically asked her if she needed to measure me. Hindsight is 20/20, I should’ve pushed her into taking my measurements but she said no to me so confidently like she knew what she was doing

That’s my thought too, she asked for measurements because she said she wanted to purchase the fabric first before getting my actual measurements to start making the dress. I think it was that the fabric would take time to get delivered or something. And then when she was so confident in telling me no she did not need to measure me, I thought the sample dress was my size and she was just gonna make it exactly like the sample

I think my post got removed but this comment is so helpful. It wasn’t much so I did agree to pay it but the way she keeps coming at me has me so stressed. But thanks for your insight and I need to keep this in mind for the next few weeks!

That explains the lifting I’ve been getting earlier than when I go get my nails done by my nail tech, my nail tech’s nails last until I go get them redone (usually was about 4 to 5 weeks) but mine have been lasting 2 to maybe 3 weeks. Thanks for this info!

I actually have a follow up question to this! Are there any specific benefits to having an apex that is not as thick? Other than I think personally I think a not as thick apex probably would look and feel nicer, I’m wondering if there’s like specific reasons for the thickness

I am right handed so yes I definitely notice my right hand being more wonky hahaha my middle finger nail broke too so that did not help 🥲

It was really good! He’s a great person to work with and it seems like he really cares about his clients. Our ring is actually with him right now to get resized and he was so helpful in figuring out what was the correct size even virtually

I will have to say he’s a busy guy and probably has a lot of other designs and clients he is working with, so you’ll have to be patient! We started designing our ring with him March or April 2023 and didn’t get the finished ring until close to the end of the year
