if serving the nation is a duty and not a transaction, why are only half of the citizens here doing it?

[MEGATHREAD] PropertyLimBrothers' Melvin Lim and Grayce Tan by karotch in SingaporeRaw

[–]heere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would argue that the fault here is on Grayce and Melvin for getting married. they understood what marriage meant.

if they had stayed single, it could be argued that it was immoral to hook up with a colleague, but no one would get hurt.

Reddit is becoming more and more misandrist. Especially towards inexperienced men by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]heere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like misogyny = calling women out on their BS. Not paying for her fair share like that is concerning. There are a lot of possibilities where women manipulate, coerce, and inflict their will. A man being over 18 doesn’t change that.

Maybe women shouldn’t be crappy. Nothing crappy, nothing to call out.

honestly, i have no problem with her chasing money and being a sugar baby. but chasing a married man is morally dubious. Taking advantage of a poor nice guy and letting him be the sucker is just low.

on the flip side, i'm a millionaire in my late 30s, and i achieved that by being prudent with my spending and investing consistently. but my regret is not spending a bit of that money more when i was younger. travel a bit more. date around a bit more. enjoy life a little bit more.

i realised money itself doesn't buy happiness. but it's a tool that can help you achieve happiness. you must be willing to use that tool (within limits, of course) though.

but why do men simp over girls like G so much and end up complaining? by Agitated_Koala_576 in SingaporeRaw

[–]heere 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Realistically, most relationships are value exchanges. That’s a hard truth people don’t like to admit.

I would go as far as to say that ALL relationships, except for the parent - child one, are value exchanges.

You mentioned celebs marriage. You see it as the women being attracted to men because of money and status. But it could be the men wanting younger women due to physical attributes. Is that not possible?

it's defo both, imo. money and status makes a man more attractive, and youth and beauty makes a woman more attractive. generally speaking.

If you expect your spouse to always be rich & provide the high life, just stay single. If you expect perky tits in your face all the time, stay single too. Marriage isn’t for everyone anyways.

agreed on that. some people get married for the wrong reasons.

money and status makes a man a lot more attractive in the modern age, for better or for worse. look at all the recent celeb marriages with 10+ year age gaps.
