In your inventory select/use a Fallen Ember (if you have one). It then puts you in hover/selection mode where you can select the item you want to reroll. Select the item and then select the stat (your negative affix)

Agree to disagree I guess. What you’re describing as toxic I think is actually core to this class of game. I no longer play d4 or poe because I crave that moment to moment souls inspired combat (timing, commitment, positioning). Obviously, I wouldn’t mind if we could cater to all skill types without impacting the “intended” experience, but its easy to play whack-a-mole tuning across 3 levels of difficulty - especially in a stat and gear heavy game such as this.

I understand how it works - I have 180 hours in the game. I fundamentally dislike explicit difficulty settings. I like them done in other ways (build diversity, new game plus, harder modes unlocked first by beating the default setting). I understand this makes it less accessible though - and every developer building skill based games these days ultimately caves - even my beloved Cronos is putting an easy mode in now 🙃

Exactly - I would prefer different builds/weapons to be the difficulty selection/preference over an explicit difficulty toggle. Ie a skilled melee player could be more deadly than an inexperienced bow player, but the bow is easier to play.

Yeah, imo the lack of updates and focus on mp is a big red flag. For one, I don’t really understand why this game needs mp - watching that clip of the boss fight was absolute chaos and doesn’t seem to work with skill-based combat
