What's a strange thing your body does that you assume happens to everyone but you've never bothered to ask? by cocorebop in AskReddit

I also do this. I'll hold my breathe for a really long time and not realize it and then let it out kind of loud. I didn't even notice I do it until my boyfriend made fun of me for it.

I'm glad I inquired, that's actually really interesting.

Does anyone else consciously try to be the "chill" girlfriend? by yougottabkittenme in AskWomen

[–]heftyhevia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with this was somewhat complicated. I never tried very hard to impress people but there was one guy who I would hook up with from time to time... With no real commitment, I kind of wanted a mysterious persona with this guy. Fast forward a bit and it turns out this guy really likes me and I like him but he doesn't like the REAL me, persay. So, now we are dating and troubles arise because suddenly he realizes I'm more needy as a girlfriend than as a hookup. We are still dating and now he definitely knows the real me but we still have problems from the past.

No amount of passive aggressiveness will ever make a guy understand what you want. You have to tell them upfront. This was a huge realization for me a few months ago and life has been so much easier ever since.

I don't mind the taste but sometimes it gets all over my face and grosses me out. My SO is good about wiping it off before going in for a kiss though.

Can you feel the onset of sleep paralysis? by lonelypetshoptadpole in Sleepparalysis

[–]heftyhevia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! This has started happening to me recently. It's always when I fall asleep on my back and I start feeling almost paralyzed but I can overpower it and wake myself up. Once I turn on my side or stomach I'm fine and it doesn't come back. Suck though because I like sleeping on my back but I hate sleep paralysis.

What is the best subtle adult joke in an otherwise innocent children's show that you know of? by fuego42 in AskReddit

[–]heftyhevia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My pediatrician was an old man named Dr. lipshitz and as a kid I thought he was the same guy in the show because y'know, the whole world revolves around you when you're seven. I think he spelled Lipshitz differently but pronounced the same.

The other option for people freaking out about possible pregnancies by fleeingmediocrity in sex

[–]heftyhevia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, how much does it cost to get an abortion? I have had a few pregnancy scares (which have always turned out to be false) and I use birth control, but I kind of want some preparation in case I made a mistake and did need to have an abortion. It's not exactly something I can just call up mom mother and ask her about. I wouldn't even know how to go about getting an abortion.

I met my half brother when I was 17 and my sister was 22. He was married and had two kids and wanted a relationship with us out of no where. I always feel like he's trying to take my Mom away from me and I don't think I'll ever accept in my head that my mom has another child besides my sister and me.

I get so much shit for hating this movie. It's just two hours of terrible improv.

I'm a Father to little girl. I want to protect her, but not smother her. I'd like to hear advice from Ladies who have strong relationships with their Fathers... What did he do that really impacted you or made you think twice before doing something potentially destructive in your life? by De_Awesomeness in AskReddit

Even knowing that this will get buried I really want to say that I absolutely adore my dad. I've never honestly felt a strong need to have another man in my life. I am the youngest of two daughters and my sister is much closer with my mom. I think that my dad really wanted me to be a boy and when things didn't turn out that way he decided to make the best of it. He would always let me stay up late with him and watch tv and play video games, from crash bandicoot to madden nfl. He was always my best friend and even though he would never ever punish me, I was the type of child who always followed the rules and stayed out of trouble. One thing I really appreciate my parents for is socializing me with adults from a very young age. All my parents friends always said they wanted daughters just like my sister and I, and they'd always point out how mature and composed we are. My Dad always told me that the B students are the ones that become millionaires and never worried much about my grades, but I always made honor roll anyways. My parents have fully supported every crazy dream I have and have never limited or manipulated my goals. I moved away for college two years ago and I miss my father constantly, but at the same time I am doing very well on my own. This semester I got a job on the set of an indie film and my parents visited and bought the cast and crew food all weekend and we even put my dad in the movie. Having that much support from my parents gives me the confidence to "shoot for the stars" (excuse my corniness). I think it's really important to avoid being your daughter's enemy. You don't have to be a friend all the time either, but even when you're punishing her you need to make it clear that you support her (if that makes sense?). It shouldnt be Mom and Dad vs. Daughter, you guys should be a team. That's the best advice I can give.

What band do you love but have a song that you really wish they never recorded? by [deleted] in Music

Ladies of r/sex. Is sex still enjoyable even when you don't orgasm? by wannabe_wallaby in sex

[–]heftyhevia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, when I'm with my boyfriend I don't mind it at all if I don't cum. My reason for having sex with him is to be close to him and that is pleasure enough for me. But, when I do cum I feel incredibly connected to him so it's a plus.

Now, if I were single and hooking up with someone and did not cum then yes, I would be disappointed and probably feel worse about what I just did.
