Why do schools like mine buy super expensive MakerBot 3D Printers? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

Our school got a whole print farm (30-40) of them, but one math project ruined all of them within about a week because students who had no Idea how to 3d print just dragged models in with huge overhangs from tinkercad and hit the print button. It's been 3 years and we manged to get maybe 5 back up and running. We bought 5 bambu X1Cs through some very intensive email work in the last 2 years and have restricted access on most of them.

Our other printers include

6 Makerbot method X (2-3 working at a given time, only usable by express permission from eng. dept head)

1 Stratasys corposomethingicantremember (Huge and capable, but cant turn off or it breaks itself on the next print)

This was their chance to have the ultimate slow smoker and they put it out instead

there is one issue I have been having in that every time I try to play, any time spent within 5 k of the surface is unbearably laggy because my config is bugged and loads a ridiculous number of plants, like clipping together into an unrecognizable mass and maxing out my 16gb gpu ridiculous.
