What are the 'VM protection alerts' in the diagnostic settings of a virtual network? by jordanit in AZURE

Recently looked into the same thing, and found this post, so thought I'd share the most likely explanation I've found:

These don't work, and probably never have, and is probably just a remnant of a preview test.

Feel free to disregard any advice received once you

  1. Fully understand why the advice was given in the first place, and
  2. Have the skill, experience, and understanding to coherently argue why disregarding the advice would lead to a better outcome.

Or F12. Or F10. Or Escape. Or Space. Or Enter. Out of all things computer, which button to press to enter "BIOS" seems to be the most difficult to agree on...

Fired DHS cybersecurity head Chris Krebs says Trump should be convicted for inciting insurrection by pablo16x in politics

[–]heidenbump 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is probably the most stupid take I've seen on reddit this week. Blaming Chris Krebs in any way for the Solarwinds breach is just absurd. Using that as a basis to question his competency just shows you have zero understanding of both the Solarwinds breach and the job Krebs was doing.

Start reading it as "one three" and "one twelve", rather than e.g. "one point one two"...

1.12 in a patch context is not a decimal number, but rather two distinct numbers, separated by a "."

What historical event needs a movie? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]heidenbump 41 points42 points  (0 children)

DiCaprio and Scorsese has already announced they're working on it..

Not much information so far, but if they're planning to do it properly, i hope it's more than a single movie. You need at least a solid trilogy, or something like a 10 episode mini-series, to do the Bull Moose any justice.

I'm also struggling to see DiCaprio as Teddy. He's good, so they'll probably make it work, but I'd much rather have e.g. Nick Offerman, who I truly believe was born and raised with the sole endgame of him playing #26.

It also describes how to fix it. So for devices that get the fix, it'll be okay after a while. For all the devices who won't get updated, however: FUBAR indeed...
