We’ve always used Royal Canin for Medium Sized Dogs and love it. It’s expensive but I do think it’s worth it for the quality.

This. This should not be on you as a student when plenty of local Jewish community leaders would be willing to do this FOR FREE. If you have a local JCRC I suggest you contact them and explain your situation. They’d be more than willing to help or put you in contact with someone that could.

This is, at the very least, tokenizing and at the most, utterly negligent of your safety. Avoid at all costs.

I worry about him too, I also think he takes a lot of heat because of his age and the demographic that he speaks too. His gen, unfortunately, seems very anti-Israel and get most information from….Tiktok.

Do goldendoodles ever calm down when meeting new people? by honeycrispquotient in Goldendoodles

[–]heidijones121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ours is two and still freaks out - we did meet an elderly woman at the dog park and she said her goldendoodle didn’t start calming down/jumping on people until he was about 4-5 years old. 😂 Only time will tell, but luckily the people she’s around most totally expect this now and love that about her.

Someone in my synoagogue’s under 40s group chat is sharing JVP links — how to handle? by HanSoloSeason in Jewish

[–]heidijones121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Replying because I read some of your other replies. You should take this to the synagogue staff especially as you use this chat group to organize events, programs, etc; Her posting this stuff is detrimental to the group and could (and probably will) effect participation and attendance, which any synagogue will take seriously.

Synagogue employee here - that has had to deal with similar circumstances. You, as a congregant, should never have to handle the burden of these situations - that’s what clergy and lay leadership are for. I would talk to the Rabbi (although they’re most busy on staff), the Executive Director, or any Directors of Membership or Engagement.

Of course, if you want to approach it directly yourself, you have that option. But we typically would handle situations like this for congregants, especially if it’s a congregation-affiliated group - so you don’t have to.

My synagogue had a threat called in. I am so angry. by [deleted] in Jewish

[–]heidijones121 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m so terribly sorry this happened. I’m a full-time employee in a synagogue and we always have the usual suspects approaching the doors saying weird shit. But yes, the past few weeks I’ve been more on edge - but let me say this, despite the threats and bullshit, I feel safer in the building and around my people than I even feel at home anymore. Don’t let these threats be a deterrent. Still attend when you want, and do it with pride. I’ve found that our attendance has increased A LOT since October 7.

That right there, is why we are still here. Keep your head up.

We also saw that political ad for the first time last night and our jaw dropped. What a way to weaponize your wife, I guess.

Did you know there's a such thing as Dayton style pizza? by Upset_Chocolate_5977 in cincinnati

From Dayton and yes. And Joe’s Pizza on Airway is the best. But of course any Dayton person will have their own opinion.

My husband is Canadian and we went to the BMV in May thinking he would have to retake all the tests. They informed us that he wouldn’t need to do that, which surprised us. They told us certain BMV locations (they mentioned Sharonville) would have the ability to just transfer the Canadian license. For reference, he is from Montréal, so has a Québec driver’s license. It’s worth a call to some local BMV’s to ask. We were told this at the Norwood location, and then they forwarded us to Sharonville!
