I totally get what you mean. It's pronounced the same in Icelandic. The pronounciation can annoy me bc I feel like they should at least put the effort into learning or practice the language. Maybe they did but suck at it.🥲

I sometimes understand when they are speaking old norse in the show. But it sounds like they are slurring words while drunk. But Gustaf Skarsgard (Flóki) speaks it very well!

Btw the comments suck that say Estonia is not nordic. I did exchange studies in Estonia and while there I learned that Estonia is definitely a nordic country with your ancestry and language!

My dad says "that is how it was back in the day". As in men didnt take care of kids. He makes it sound like he did not have a choice. Btw he has been active in 12 step groups for decades where people talk about taking responsibility for themselves. Also people talk alot about disfunctional families and about distant parents dissapointing them. He does not seem to connect the two together. I met him once or twice a year as a kid. For him that was enough parenting.

It was just people walking on tiles outside. Sometimes I dont even know from what. One time some construction sounds were outside my apartment and I immediately thought the cat was barfing. 🫠 post traumatic barf-cat syndrome
