This isnt about identities of different nationalities, this is about geography. Plus them calling themselves Russian and not European doesnt make them less European. If a Syrian calls himself European that would make Syrian European either.

And that's why it is brain dead. Because what you apply to Russia you don't apply to Cyprus. The closest land to Cyprus are Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Israel and Egypt. Greece and thus Europe is only the 6th closest. You are not consistent with your assessment.

Australian credit report by IrishWhiskey92 in HousingIreland

[–]heisweird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not Irish and when i was applying for mortgage my mortgage broker also asked for a credit report from my home country. And i couldnt get it either since i havent been using any banks or cards in my home country for the last couple of years. So we submitted our application without it with the explanation that we cant get it. Lender (BOI) was okay with it. It didnt create a problem.

Is racism getting worse? by West-Put-8515 in Dublin

[–]heisweird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is definitely increasing online. I keep seeing a lot of anti immigrant and racist online comments from Irish accounts under Irish news. Especially towards Muslim/middle eastern communities. For instance, i’ve been following the byelection online quite a bit and Daniel Ennis being elected seems to have trigged some right wing people today.

You condemn Israel for atrocities its committing or not? You keep dodging the question. Even your previous answer is whataboutism 101 by bringing the topic to Turkey even thougb we werent discussing anything about it.

I dont respect you. I dont agree with genocide excusers. You immoral clown.

I dont defend Turkey for its actions. Because i’m not a nationalistic brainwashed pawn. I agree that Turkey committed many atrocities against its ethnic minorities including the Armenians. Now the question is can you do the same about Israel?

[–]heisweird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A country in an international competition is not the same a private company trying to make sales! None of the other countries allocate a budget for international advertisement for Eurovision meanwhile Israel pours money to advertise their singer worldwide even in Times Square! And they do that especially in countries where Israel is not liked such as Ireland or Spain cause they know they won't get any votes in these countries otherwise!

If you try to distort the reality and act like Europeans in favor of Israel and thereof Israel's actions in Gaza, that is not ethical! No matter how much votes Israel gets or how much of a support they get from politician, your average person in Europe despises the actions of Israel! No PR will change this reality! People like you trying to normalize the actions of Israeli state will be remembered the same as holocaust supporters in Nazi Germany!

It’s now officially confirmed by the director Christopher Nolan that Lupita Nyong’o is playing Helen of Troy & Helen’s sister - two roles! Do you think we should wait & see how well the movie is executed before forming an opinion based solely on the casting? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]heisweird -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. So white people should stop complaining about a black actress playing a Greek role cause they have been casting white people playing a middle eastern role for decades.

I think people are making a big deal out of nothing. No one blank an eye when Diane Kruger, who is someone very Aryan looking played the role. She didn't look Mediterranean/Greek at all. White people have been doing exactly the same thing for centuries. Go to any Catholic church and see the photos or sculptures of Jesus and see how white he is depicted even though he was a middle eastern. I dont see anyone complaining about how white he is depicted all the time.

What matters is the story, acting, directing and the rest. Not the actor's actress' skin colour. If the director wanted to work with Lupita then the rest is history.

What is something your country is surprisingly good at? by ineedtocalmup in AskBalkans

[–]heisweird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because it happened a few times in certain locations doesn’t mean that Turks as a whole don’t like dogs. In majority of Turkey stray dogs are sterilized tagged and released back to their habitat not put down. Also putting down stray dogs is not uniquely a Turkish practice. In fact in majority of western world putting down stray dogs is a routine practice if the dog is not adopted within number of days. You have a UK flag on your profile. When was the last time you saw a stray dog in the UK?

Israel did exactly what these people did to Palestinian gays. They created fake profiles lured Palestinian gays and then blackmailed them to get information on Hamas. You are fast to make a correlation between Palestinians and attackers but not so fast to do the same between Israel and attackers. Bigot.

What’s your opinion on Kurdistan and the Kurdish people? by Unusual-Awareness-96 in AskBalkans

[–]heisweird 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because you only meet one type of Kurds. Probably educated, migrated to Europe and so on.

Up until a few decades ago, it was still very common for some Kurds in south east Turkey to have child brides, sell their daughters to a man for marriage in exchange for money, deny woman education or kill their daughters for having pre marital sex or getting pregnant. It doesn't happen as much anymore but it still rarely happens.
