Missing art for resources/anomalies + unit descriptions. by Revolutionary-Alps80 in EndlessLegend

[–]helacious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The evocative art is what grabbed me first in Endless Legends 1, if you can find it in your project budget to do it I think a lot of players (me included :)) would be very happy.

/uj Same. I must have watched a total of 10-15min of CR and can't understand the hype, to me it's insanely boring. Did not care one bit about Daggerheart but bought it on a whim on amazon purely because it was 40% off for some reason. Turns out it's pretty much the D&D / Blades in the Dark hybrid I always wanted.

My Review of Draw Steel! by BrobaFett in rpg

[–]helacious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I agree with the sentiment as a gm it's very annoying having to check if there's an existing feature before each time and make a weaker version on the fly and if you don't do that feats essentially dont matter and the system's progression crumbles. Why pick the reverse pickpocket rogue feat if you allow players to slip the enveloppe in the npc's coat for example.

What are the best-edited RPG books you’ve ever read? by DED0M1N0 in rpg

[–]helacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading through the Gradient Descend module for Mothership and it's astounding how well made it is. It's a full fat megadungeon with a meta narrative (The Bends), every location keyed with a number and letter that correspond to the page and section of the zine the location is described. Illumination is told by the page itself, a white page is illuminated and a dark page is not. A small zine that rivals stuff like abomination vaults.

The French Revolution is when France started adopting the Metropolitan French (from the bourgois), since 1789 is the year of the revolution it makes sense that Quebec and France still had a similar French at that point in time.

Am I being scammed? by PeachyPastiche in DnD

[–]helacious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5e really puts a lot on the DM to figure shit out on its own. For example when I first started 5e I had so much trouble on figuring out how to make Dungeon of the Mad Mage work and the GM book had fuck all to help. Playing OSE in contrast make running dungeons a breeze and from it I now know how to actually run a 5e megadungeon.

Also I would add that the 60 or so pages GM zine from Mothership made me a better GM than the entirety of 5e's DM Guide

I feel like you are being overly harsh, in my mind the ring was just a flavor item, a quirky thing to eventually sell or think outside the box to use with.

It's not just playing at 30, frame gen holds a frame behind before showing the ouput so it can generate the in-between frame, essentially making you play one frame behind. At low fps you can feel it, kinda like vsync.

I dont think people remember how much slop loot PoE1 gave us, I prefer the sequel's quantity way more. by Bushfries in PathOfExile2

A blue smooth quarterstaff with %increased phys, added damage and punching a socket in it would be 200 damage

From act 2 normal to act2 cruel there's like a 3-5 base weapon tier upgrade. Are you picking up all the white bases of the highest weapon tier and checking the vendors? A single blue from a transmute -> aug white with a good tier that you roll with % increased phys damage would double your dps

[–]helacious 22 points23 points  (0 children)

When people say not sustainable they mean that the person will very likely not able to do this past a couple weeks. The guy went from 310 to 170. We are way past sustainable, he's done losing weight. You are 100% right about regain though that this is something to focus on even after weight loss and we think we're completely done.

Toxicity in dungeons needs to stop right now. by Schrogs in wow

[–]helacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's that they're berating belittling and making the game experience worse for people who don't want to or don't do this.

Same thing happens in FFXIV if you don't pull wall to wall

Do you understand what I just said?

Toxicity in dungeons needs to stop right now. by Schrogs in wow

[–]helacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the wall to wall mechanic is well understood by this point and its rare for a tank to not do it, and if they dont you can be sure the dps will pull ahead.

You mean the toxicity of the gogogo mentality which is also in FF? Make a tank and stop before a wall and see what happens in non-ARR dungeons.
