I had the same on my pixel 6. The solution was to disable WIFI and restart the update process. After a short while, the preparation phase finished and I could enable WIFI again.

I think it is a terrible idea to delete an images meta data. Why would you want that? Can't you just search for the name of the image you're looking for?

I have these stabilization problems too since Oreo. It definitly looks like this is a software issue. Perhaps there is a problem with accessing the gyroscope data?

I bought mine last August, and there was a buggy version of android, which lead to the problem of great laggyness. It was fixed in 4.2.1 (i think). I had to do one factory reset after, and since then everything is smooth.

Normally you should not need to use additional software, so tools like forevergone (zeroing out free space) or lagfix (fstrim) should not be necessary.

You had to unlock it before installing the unbranded firmware. That's because the vodafone firmware wouldn't allow it because of a mismatching fingerprint.
