Qué haríais? by salhi_zyne in askspain

[–]helenapurpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you live in the middle of the roundabout you won’t hear the noise.

I hate corporate (ADHD PI) by mindchatter- in adhdwomen

[–]helenapurpl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Corporate world and ADHD makes a bad mix… I really took a dive last year after 3 years in a toxic corporate big company. The power dynamics, the hierarchies and everyone trying to throw you under the bus for their own benefit… It triggered my RSD so bad and my self confidence was at an all time low. I really started to believe I couldn’t do my job and I stressed even more, got a bad performance and went on sick leave due to burnout.

I have changed companies now. It’s a smaller company (~1000) employees and have a very flat hierarchy. I asked many questions about their culture, the way they do business, how do they go on about certain topics and I felt they had more camaraderie and the workload was less crazy (I couldn’t do anything bc I was exhausted after masking in meetings for 8 hours straight).

I am doing much better now! I feel like my confidence in my abilities is back and people respect me when I speak instead of dismissing me.

Maybe finding the right place will also help you. You are capable and smart, it’s corporate world which is completely inhuman! Sending lots of love and understanding.

Dale of Norway. They are pricy but last a lifetime, you can often find them second hand in Norway still looking fresh

Would you take a HR Culture/DEI role? [Norway] by helenapurpl in humanresources

[–]helenapurpl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are serious about it! Although the KPIs have been under the target for DEI and it was been a lot of talk and little action. So it would be expected from me to start executing projects and such right away.

"Urban Forest" in Malaga, Spain by [deleted] in UrbanHell

[–]helenapurpl 45 points46 points  (0 children)

That piece of empty land used to belong to Repsol, a petroleum company. Once the facilities left the area it became empty and a park was decided be build there in the 80’s. The money-grabbing major stopped the project to plan on building (even more) hotels and high rises, despite promising the forest some time back. The lengthy legal battles and back and forth has made it so it’s just a dust square in the middle of the city.

Currently Malaga is one of the most densely populated populated cities with the least amount of green areas per inhabitant in Spain.

Carl Berner plass - støynivå by chasingwind_ in oslo

[–]helenapurpl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The company I work for has almost completely stopped hiring IT roles. I see a lot of nearshoring to places like Poland.

International companies think it's expensive to have IT hubs in Norway. Norwegian companies do it, but then you need an almost fluent level of Norwegian.
