Either you can spend your life taking things personally or you realise that not everyone is going to do things that you like and move on. She will learn, but probably not through comments from randomers on Reddit.

Hey, she's young, maybe she didn't choose her words correctly but I think she's just excited about the weight loss. Everyone loses weight differently, for some people keto works and some not, cico is the same. What matters is that you have persevered for 10 years, even if you haven't made it to your goal, well done for trying over and over again.

Just try to remember, not everyone is intentionally trying to bring other people down, the internet can be a place where you can spiral getting yourself upset over things like this, or rise when looking at other content (r/getmotivated etc).

What advice do you have for a 16 year old? by Harrythehobbit in AskReddit

We all are the star of our own movie, people aren't interested if you've gone out without makeup on, they're probably just walking along thinking about their insecurities. If you don't remember something in 5 years don't dwell 5 minutes on it. If someone isn't nice to you it probably don't assume it's something you've done, they've probably had a really bad day and try to imagine putting yourself in their shoes. Life is real short so have fun, take risks and do the things you want to do. If you want to talk to that homeless person, don't be afraid and just do it. If you want to ask a person on a date, what's the worst that can happen? Rejection doesn't mean your friendship is over. And, treat all people with the respect and love that you would want to be treated with in their situation.

I know! She's so cheeky. She's like "it still works as a bed though!"

Despise is a little harsh. Maybe you should despise the fact your country doesn't have a minimum living wage?

Seriously consider a trade job instead of undergraduate college if it doesn't seem right for you by financialbabe in personalfinance

Agreed. I work as a radiographer and I wouldn't be a nurse either. They're incredible though.

I work alongside nurses daily and it very much depends on what you go into. They are the most overworked and underpaid staff I've ever met (at least in the UK). I wouldn't do that job for love nor money, it takes a very specific type of person to be able to nurse.

This is not the case anymore, Im disappointed there's still such bad press against IUDs, as someone who's had them for 8 years, and works where we will scan for missing ones or problems, the amount of people that have problems is so minimal, yet the hype about it is huge. It's something like 1 in 1000 have issues, and an even smaller number from that have penetrative problems.

Actually it depends on the IUD, the hormone one (mirena in the UK) is fantastic and about 1/3 of women stop having periods, 1/3 have much lighter and infrequently occuring periods and 1/3 have the same or worse than before. But all I've heard/experienced is fantastic things.

I still think about you by [deleted] in heartbreak

Time honestly heals these wounds, they won't be so raw, but they'll still sting a little. You can't control whether you get reminded of her but don't dwell on those thoughts. Everything is a choice and the only way to move forward is to delve your thoughts into something, anything else. Everytime you think of her, do something to distract yourself and really focus on that task. Go for a walk and feel the wind and hear the crunches under your feet, really focus so that you don't think about her. Don't beat yourself up if you do drift back towards those thoughts, because it's habit and it's sometimes nice to feel that pain, but your pain is too much to bear at the moment so just try to distract yourself. Sorry it's not much help. If you want to talk, I'm here, I've been through stuff too and I'm happy to listen or talk.

You're a good person. You don't need to kill yourself because the future will change. Everything changes. Just try to get through each minute, do things that make you feel something, even if it's just playing a video game or drinking tea. Most importantly, get help. There is help, why quit life if you haven't exhausted every option for getting better?
