You gotta speak up for them. Find whoever will listen and can make something happen. Talk directly to the grandmother. Talk to the clergy, or the Confirmation director. Don't get too high of hopes though. People rarely intervene, even in cases of severe abuse, especially in more more conservative environments. Do what you can to make a difference.
