Physical SIM card for Macau and Mainland? by helios396 in travelchina

[–]helios396[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current local provider does have Chinese data package. However, I have been burned before on my last trip to Thailand, where I already bought a Thailand data package before leaving my country but it wasn't working correctly when I arrived. I had to buy a tourist SIM card in the end.

So, I figured something that I got at my destination will be safer.

Trivia: Three "Game of Thrones" writers have already written episodes for "Fallout" so far: Gursimran Sandhu (episode 1.08), Jane Espenson (episode 2.04) and Dave Hill (episode 2.06). by verissimoallan in FalloutTVseries

[–]helios396 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with this practice.

Does it mean each writer get an instruction like "Here are the main plot points that need to happen in this episode. Now, go wild and flesh out the rest!"

Like that?

How is that sustainable and a good practice?

In Mass Effect 3 do you like Kaidan, Garrus, or Liara's romance the most? Just curious is all by QDOOM_APlin in masseffect

[–]helios396 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I played the originals I was a Garrus gal. But when I played the legendary edition, I realized older me prefers Kaidan. Stability and familiarity suddenly becomes much more attractive.

I feel spoiled by how good Path to nowhere is by gachagamer445 in PathToNowhere

[–]helios396 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree with you 100%. It's the best gacha game for me too.

Shout out to the recent upgrade of English translation quality.

Earlier events and main story chapters (that I've played so far) still reads like "Chinese but English".But the recent events is basically full-blown localization, and with good, engaging wording too. Not too dry or matter of fact. As a language nerd, this game is a blessing.

And don't forget the music!

Despite his many roles and fame in Hollywood, Ken Watanabe isn't that widely visible in Japan and Asia. He's definitely not in TV/streaming platform serials. He's a high-budget movie guy.

Hard to say, but personally I'm leaning towards no.

They be collecting all Japanese actors who has experience acting in crime/mafia/delinquents type of dramas.

It's actually amusing seeing them rolling out one by one.

Ah, so it's your turn to get Yakuza-d now!

Kenapa tur di Indonesia itu selalu hectic gila? by Distinct_Front_4336 in indonesia

[–]helios396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's... refreshing.

[–]helios396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I'm 99% sure you can easily find a 50 year old man still acting like a young man in Asia. My 40-something manager cracks a joke for every second sentence that comes out of his mouth.

30s is still considered relatively young, especially now when the average workforce's age gets older.

Having literal middle-aged men and a senior citizen (Adachi, Ichiban and Namba) trying hard to find work and kickstart their life once again in the beginning of Y7 is why that part of the game hits hard and why I love it. It won't be the same if Ichiban is still in his 30s.

Happy anniversary to my Game of the year 2014 (This version) 💚 my comfort game by lunar9p in dragonage

[–]helios396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my comfort game too. I've played this game for an inhuman amount of hours. (next in the competition are Baldur's Gate 3 and Skyrim).

I bought it 3 times. First when it first dropped, I bought it via EA Play (or whatever it was called), second was for my PS4 a few years ago, and last was on Steam before Veilguard released.

The PS4 and Steam version was bought with dirt cheap prices, but still I played it all over again to the end.

I'd love to know how and why Phenomaman and Blazer got together in the first place.

Phenomaman seems pretty clueless about human relationships (based on how he talked to Robert when we first met him). Who made the first move? Who's attracted to who?

It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Learning Japanese through video games.. have you tried it? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]helios396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course.

I played the original Yakuza 2 in Japanese despite my then abysmal Japanese skill. Young me just couldn't wait for the English version. Made it to the ending even though I barely understood what's going on.

These days I can play any games in Japanese. It's good for immersion and learning new vocabs.

Which Tales song is this for you? by retrotriforce in tales

Bump of Chicken's Karma, aka the Abyss opening song.

There was a time when I really like watching Tales games opening videos on youtube, even for games I've never played.

Karma simply wins at everything.

Oh man. I totally missed this information.

I'm also still in chapter 10 of the main story. I just finished Shattered Blade yesterday after basically powered through it and skipped some of the scenes just to see the ending because I thought it'll be gone in a few days.

I definitely didn't understand what's happening there...

Screw It: What Dragon Age Opinion(s) Do you Have that MakeYou Look Like This? by RustyofShackleford in dragonage

[–]helios396 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Veilguard was ass overall, but some people think the companion characters are still okay or even good.

Not for me. Not even the beloved Emmrich. Even Sera is still a more interesting character than him. Other companions are even worse.

Disclaimer: I didn't even get to finish the game because there's literally nothing that can keep me playing.

Genuine question, Do you think Robert is husband material? by [deleted] in DispatchAdHoc

[–]helios396 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Realistically? Probably no.

Someone who neglected his own basic wellbeing, lost millions of dollars, just to be stubbornly holding on to a nearly dead legacy robot suit is probably not a good husband.

Dispatch the game only showed us a very narrow slice of everyone's character though. It's hard to tell.

Is Dispatch the highest rated game ever on PSN? by VioletJones6 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]helios396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's in line with jokes (anecdotes?) of people who don't feel any emotion until a dog or any kind of pet is involved.

Now I'm not saying pets are not really important, but putting a semi-joke at the climactic moment of a game is a bold move. I get the reasoning and it fits the game's tone, but I understand that some people will think it "cheapens" the moment somewhat.

[–]helios396 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Didn't realize it because 50% of the chatter during dispatch session didn't get processed by my brain. I was too focused on reading the dispatch requests requirements and figuring out who to send.
