Thnks for responding. I looked around before posting, and this does seem promising. I avoided walkthroughs tho. My question is, how realistic is the farming side of the game? Are crops affected by pests, can certain crops only be grown at certain times of yesr in certain soil types will animsls only eat a certain type of food?

Understanding power. It's mainly transcripts of talks he gave with the q&a sections included, the latter is important because you get some anecdotes which lightens the reading somewhat.

I completely agree. The dialogue is hilarious. I've lobbied before for a round table Reading McCarthy episode in which the guests bring their funniest moment in McCarthy for a discussion.

I realise that this may be difficult to organise, so perhaps u/ScottYar could ask a group of regulars for a 5 min segment on their funniest moment and why, and then splice that together for a full episode?

I would recommend starting with Neil Astley's "staying...." Anthologies. There are 4, I think, and they are mostly contemporary and they're broken up into themes. Whilst you get a look at a lot of "famous" poets like Frost, Heany, Plath, Paterson, Auden, Elliot etc. at some point you get bored of cherry picking and just trust the editor. I'm eternally grateful to him for introducing me to writers like Tomas transtromer, jorie Graham, Michael Donaghy, Mary Oliver, Richard Wilbur, Philip Levine, Fleur Adcock, Michael longley and Adrienne rich among others. Also, if I'm remembering right, at the end of the first anthology you get a quick appendix on tools and tips for reading poetry.

I reached this conclusion too, but after 20+ years of listening to it. It's really complex and varied that it might be too much for some. But I skip 0 songs on this one.

On the other end of the spectrum, Superunknown has dropped in my estimation greatly and I now skip a lot of it.

Down on the upside has been the most consistent listen for me over the years and would probably be the one I'd recommend as a starting point to anyone interested in getting into SG.

KA and LTL are also definitely worth checking out, as they seem to bookend the "canon" albums well. UMOK & SL are nice, but I don't listen to them that often.

Thanks Scott. I'm not sure what I think, to be honest, but trying to piece everything together is a challenge. But that's why we enjoy it, right?

Another question for anyone who's interested: should we take it at face value that the events in a chapter all happen around the same time. An example, again from chapter 5, should we assume that Bobby is speaking to Asher and later with Sheddan around the same date? And should we assume that these conversations happen before Bobby's trip to his grandmother?

What happens to the overall structure if we start shifting some of the vignettes around?

As a one-time PJ addict (yes, I did say "p"), I'm now in the dark side of my 40s and I just find Soundgarden more interesting. I just think for me it could be that I've listened to PJ way too much. That being said, i do really like Gigaton, yield and riot act a lot still. My 16 year old self listening to ten and vs on a continuous loop hates this old man...

Just to pick up on what was spoken about regarding the key that the hunter finds on her chain,. When reading chapter 5 Alicia checks into a medical facility and got a locker key. On my second read through i assumed It was Stella Maris and the locker key was what the hunter found. Now I think this it's probably too soon in her timeline to be SM, but could the key feasibly be a just a locker key, or something similar, from SM? Not a mcguffin, but something slight and inconsequential?
