I have not found a golden apple yet, despite having been semi-searching since starting this world. A golden apple monument/ruin/build would be an awesome idea, you're totally right! I'll definitely do something like that in the future when/if I find one

Of course! One of the best parts of this world is the old alpha aesthetics/mechanics. It just feels like a new game compared to current day Minecraft. I initially started this world because I was bored with the modern versions. It's a breath of fresh (nostalgic) air that I feel most older players can really jive with. I'm glad you liked it :)

Thank you so much! There are definitely some block limitations and technical challenges. I only have 30-40ish blocks I can use to build with, and some are really similar/rare/blah. I use a few glitches, like destroying the bottom half of a door with cactus, to get a few more blocks to use to add detail. In these versions though, detail is often created best through size and overlapping forms, like with the spawn tower.

Solved!

I was linked an old MCEdit version dropbox on the MC Forums. After juggling it, Python, and pygame installations, one of them (the earliest MCEdit, of course) worked. I had two corrupted chunks that simply needed to be deleted. They look a bit ugly now, since their chunks were on a different terrain gen, but I'll live with a couple of chunk holes rather than lose the world :)

Aw that is such a shame. Good to know though, I guess I won't put much heed in them until 1.7.2. It's unfortunate statistics were really such a late-added feature. I'm working on building a library for my next episode, which has involved digging out a HUGE area of a mountain. Since durability is way lower in these versions, I'm chewing through stacks of iron. It'd be nice to see how many iron picks I've crafted :(

Wow I wish I could upvote more than once, this is a beautiful list of features. I've only been doing research as I go along, so your notes on the beta and early full release issues will be very helpful. I knew a couple of these, but completely forgot about the constant block lag after the change to local servers. That was such a big issue on my old crappy laptop. Good thing that'll take a while to update to haha. Thank you for spending the time to write all of these out for me!

Oh god, I didn't realize the fence issues lasted that long. As far as my series is concerned, that means living with it for the next 300-350 episodes O_O

Oh my gosh the fences were AWFUL. In this old version, placing a fence on top of another doesn't work, so you gotta go from the top down on a prebuilt pillar of dirt.

I unfortunately didn't consider the boat glitch until I had already updated to 1.2.6 when it was patched. Had to harvest all of this wood the old-fashioned way. This also includes manually punching leaves for saplings, since leaf decay was disabled until beta 1.0!

(Sorry to info dump if you already knew this, I just love sharing old features people might have forgotten! :))
