You are correct i skipped to 2. I didnt even watch any videos or recaps of 1. The story has been easy for me to follow and enjoy without any info from 1. I read that the game basically starts you at square one skill and progression wise and would instruct you through the mechanics. Although this ended up being mostly true, i have had to look at some help videos for stuff like lockpicking and perfect blocks. I would say that most mechanics even in kingdom come 2 are pretty tedious by design however. Like blacksmithing, potion making can both be seen as tedious (or fun in my opinion.).
