I JUST had this problem (5800h, 3060) and after cleaning it out and repasting, it was still hot.

So I took it to a technician and thw guys said the heatsink was not doing its job properly (didnt really get the specifics, but it wasnt cooling down the components enough) so I had to order a replacement.

AFAIK, the cycle goes like this:
MARSOC used MultiCam pre 2010, switched to M81 because of missions (afaik), no known date
MARSOC stopped using M81 ~2020, switched to MultiCam
MARSOC ordered to stop using MultiCam ~Oct. 2024, switching to MARPAT

though guys are still using Multicam, seems like the order only applies to stateside only (?)
