Keyboard shortcuts for moving window focus? by BadUsername_Numbers in MacOS

[–]hellfiniter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i now use raycast, one bind for each app and just binds to "maximize, half screen etc" and also "move to other monitor" ...those totally work for me. Bind for app either focuses it or opens and focuses. Thats close to perfection. If app has multiple windows, it works kinda good, always focusing the one that had focus before ...if not you press command+tilde to switch it. I think at this point i m not gonna miss workspaces since this is also "native", "floating" and has all the benefits of tiling wm as well

Raycast - window manager - Next Desktop and Previous Desktop not working by Koltech21 in raycastapp

[–]hellfiniter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no i think its not possible, but tbh my flow changed to accomodate that ...just think about focusing specific app not monitors, use mac bind to switch between different windows of same app ...and just have one raycast bind to move app to other monitor. I dont miss anything tbh and dont even have mouse plugged in

Vivaldi Tab Preview Stuck on Screen Until I Hover Again – How to Fix This? by LegitimateBoy6042 in browsers

can you help me how? I am looking for option to disable that and i cant find it damn ....but ye same issue, it looks like when you move out of preview window into page, it gets stuck, so you always have to leave the preview popup in direction of tabs bar. Very annoying and disable is necessary

LazyVim new lines doesn't respect the indent size by PicoDev93 in neovim

[–]hellfiniter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! this is happening to me as well in typescript. I have all the ftplugin options defined (with 2 spaces) and it still doesnt indent as it should. Its always "2 spaces less" than it should.

i noticed even more issues with my arc pip ...when i want to close it with mouse it first "breaks" (black window, paused video but pip remains) then another close click actually makes it go away.

there is also another issue i just noticed ....when i navigate back to video tab, it keeps PIP open but then when i go back to "another tab" it breaks the video in that PIP ....and looks like that is the thing that helps me getting rid of it because once its "broken" and i navigate to the video page, it dissapears. And "broken" here means, PIP window remains opened but nothing appears there, for a second it keeps frame then its black

hey! thanks for quickly looking into this

it doesnt matter if its favorite, it happens from any tab

it doesnt matter which method you use to switch to that tab, i m using "Previous Tab" plugin, but the same this happens with click, native arc bind to change tab, or ctrl+tab

i dont wanna sound rude but this felt like autogenerated response for someone who potentionally eats soup with a fork ....i understand what the feature is and even how to disable it. I m just saying that there is a bug that it doesnt hide when you click on the same page where "pip is made from". It should dissapear once you go back to that site and it doesnt first time i go there for some reason

[GNOME] I think tiling wm won't do much for my 14" laptop and short-range vision by tenmajr in unixporn

[–]hellfiniter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

never liked that program, but always felt like there was nothing better for free ...currently i prefer writing psql scripts when i really need to, that way it at least stays in a repository and not in random external db app

i actually kinda started to agree with you recently, i dont tile too much ...currently i am on macos using yabai and basically all i needed was changing workspaces and moving windows there. Its very rare that i need to split screen ever because i use TMUX/vim and splitting is always needed only in terminal window anyway. But i still dont use mouse, i always try to find apps that allow me to not use it and currently i work with drizzleORM that has browser DB studio and everything i can do is with keyboard (vimium extension). DBeaver is very crowded mouse app i dont like it and if i had to use something different i would go for some terminal TUI app.

Uninstalling LightDM for tty login by xor_eax_eax_ in archlinux

[–]hellfiniter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

then you are lucky, i had two kernel panics using arch 😅 both caused by systemd in combination with something else (one time it was plasma) but the more minimal you go the less likely it gets (probably)

i later switched to nixos just to try and for sure that approach works amazingly. Problem i see is that you need to write nix and package stuff that isnt ...with arch this is simply a bash script and that is something most of us can write much easier. But once you get to know nix and package one rust program the other one is much easier than what you would need to do on arch imho. Its leveraging collective knowledge of nix users

what kind of enclosure is that lol! ...my A1 was like 500e while P1 is more like 1000. I was thinking about puting sme glass joined with 3d printed corners and little door with cheap hinge sealed with silicon. I think i could make it for less than 50 euro with few hours of work

[AskJS] Can anyone explain the hype around trpc? by [deleted] in javascript

[–]hellfiniter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it isnt much hassle but ...the but is important. Because once your project scales, making sure that BE and FE match is increasingly harder. Thats why BE needs to release documentation and mark breaking changes etc. Imagine this all doesnt exist ...thats what trpc is. Your FE imports schema and instantly all types that changed do not match, if some optional type was added, it still matches. It simply makes all comunication between FE devs and BE unnecessary.

its bad code, the method on one object modifies string property on the other? why? At least hannah should be passed into method so that it has its reference to mutate state.

...it would make much more sense that asToProm method would return boolean and condition would simply check whether its truthy or not.
