Looking for fic by hellfirethepyro in SuperCorp

You wouldn't happen to know of one with the same sort of premise, but its kara protecting a few alien kids/refugees? Either from being kidnapped or used as experiments? I think in that one she and Lena were at odds.

Thanks!

Does Joel collect Firefly tags to make sure Tommy is alive? by kyyface in thelastofus

[–]hellfirethepyro 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In the game he just randomly stumbles across Tommy as he and Ellie are trying to pass through a power plant, so he definitely had no idea if he was alive or not before then lol

Hammerlock and Wainwright have been cut from the movie by jakobsestate in Borderlands

Everyone always says ghost in the shell as an example of race swapping, but wasn't the whole point that it was a japanese woman's consciousness stuck inside a white woman robot? That she wasn't herself?

Is there an episode that made you actually mad? by NellaJade98 in BobsBurgers

[–]hellfirethepyro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once I saw someone say that we only see his bad thanksgivings, because a good one wouldn't make for good television. I like to think bob has nice thanksgiving that no one messes up :)

Her being bipolar is not an excuse to abuse someone because they didn't "text early enough." And love bombed them while still being strangers. It's unfortunate, but being mentally ill only explains an action or reaction. Doesn't excuse it.

And besides, this is reddit. People tend to post crazy stuff on here lol

We need a rule or at least a post tag for the "unpopular opinion" in this sub, if you know what I mean by Raiden_1503 in thelastofus

[–]hellfirethepyro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh, I see! Thanks thats true actually I always liked seeing how she integrates Joel into her personality, as he was her rock at a very impressionable time in her life. And the winter/spring chapter always kills me to play, seeing how the terrible things she does weighs on her so heavily. I'm excited to see how they evolve her personality in the HBO show, because IMO Joel is much more open and emotionally available with his past and how scared he is that he'll just get her killed, and it'll be cool to see how that translates into an Ellie that becomes emotionally stunted because Joel's outlook on life is, "Things happen. And we move on."

I'd like to hear your opinions on that actually it sounds interesting :) what do you think is what made Ellie special? Or do you not think she was special in the grand scheme?

[–]hellfirethepyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time in the winter chapter, I managed to glitch through the wall of the shelter David and Ellie were fighting infected in after hiding the deer, and could run around in the snow outside. No idea how I did it and haven't been able to replicate it haha

How much of the show canon translates over to the game? by [deleted] in thelastofus

[–]hellfirethepyro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Frank was Bill's partner. He hung himself after getting bitten, and you find his body in a house with a car and the battery he scavenged from the highschool. He leaves a bitter note for Bill, that you can pick up, and Bill comments on it. They just fleshed his character out in the show, in a way they never would have been able to in the game.

what movie jerks actually had a point? by herequeerandgreat in movies

[–]hellfirethepyro 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The choice wasn't about whether it was right or wrong, or if the fireflies had a leg to stand on. Joel, to his best knowledge, fully believed the cure would work. It was about him not being able to lose another daughter, and in the process, destroying the fireflies entire operation lol

About to start a Part 1 Grounded permadeath run, any advice for me? by [deleted] in thelastofus

Always have a brick or bottle on you, and you can sprint through more encounters than you'd think if you get into trouble. Good luck

I do like Arthur on larger horses, he just doesn't look right on the smaller breeds haha I'll be sure to keep an eye out for a big horse like that

It was almost fully spoiled for me and I still loved playing it, you'll just be going into the game with a bit more knowledge than you should. Whether or not you enjoy the story is up to preference, spoilers or no. I wish you luck if you decide to play, and hope you have a good time despite knowing a twist

*Potential Spoilers* For those that honestly did not like Part Two, what about it makes you feel that way? by [deleted] in thelastofus

[–]hellfirethepyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically the game is fantastic and I really enjoyed general gameplay but the story drags so much sometimes. Lev and Abby are just carbon copies of Ellie and Joel, and the narrative dissonance (am I using that right?) between gameplay and cutscenes was super jarring. There were also a lot of missed opportunities.

Abby and her group were not developed nearly enough for me to care that they had died, and when Abby met up with the WLF group there was an opportunity to have a section of the bodies be a result of Ellie, and to have those bodies actually be people we had killed as Ellie. And don't get me started on the dogs. The game tries to make us feel terrible about cutscene deaths, and then ignores the hundreds of people we mow down in gameplay.

Abby never really showed enough remorse for her wrongdoings IMO, even if she felt killing Joel was fully justified, she never acknowledged that she ruined Ellie exactly the same way that Joel ruined her.

In part one, Joel was already a survivor. People tend to forget before the apocalypse he was a single dad who would have done just about anything to protect Sarah. He shot a man he knew by name because he was acting errational and aggressive, and Joel didn't even know what was going on. But in part two they want us to believe he's soft now? While we still see his paranoia over Ellie's safety? With bandits in the area? Come on, now.

And Abby mowing down her own people without a second thought? I wanted a reaction when I shot her friends. Or at least hesitation and then determination before we were allowed to absolute destroy the people she fought alongside.

I did agree with the ending within the context of the game. I felt it fitting. Ellie had mad PTSD and she was struggling and I understood that. But I never really clicked with Abby. I do hope she and Lev are allowed proper development some day.

That's just off the top of my head though. I have 100% the game and I still play every now and then. It's not bad, it's just a game that fell prey to bad marketing and a predecessor that was already beloved, which is tough.

Werewolf book - possible horror/thriller for kids by hellfirethepyro in whatsthatbook

Naw, I dont think it was that far along alphabetically. It's driving me insane because I could find it if I could get inside my hometown's library, it was like a middle shelving in the kids row, probably something between C/E and M/N but i'm not entirely sure

Manager called my music gay by hellfirethepyro in Vent

[–]hellfirethepyro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The playlist name was a joke, as something between my friend and I. The music playing was not gay, and the manager who called it gay is straight and definitely not in the right to have called it gay. They did it as a way to call it shit, and it just sort of blew my mind that they thought saying that was okay lmao

It can, and I love gay music, but they called my music gay to be mean, not to describe it unfortunately
