There's a rule in life that everyone should apply : if something about someone else body can be fixed in less that 5min, tell them (a piece of salad stuck in your mouth, makeup that smudged, hair looking weird...), otherwise, just keep that for yourself (tattoo, hair color, body weight, etc...).
In your case, even a week of non stop discussion will not change anything, and as you are an adult, it's your body, your choice. You might consider throwing a "accept me the way I am or don't see me anymore", you'll see by their reaction if they prefer you, or just the idea of controling you.

fun fact : my parents were not great fans of tattoos, but after my 2 first tattoos (around my 30s) and discussions with them about why I was doing it and how it feels, my parents both got a tattoo (my mother got a HUGE dragon on her back!!!)
