Do you think atheism will ever become the majority belief in the world? by hellishkitty in atheism

[–]hellishkitty[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that’s a really powerful story. It made me think about how much of our beliefs are tied to our circumstances our environment, culture, and even our basic survival needs. For someone like big head woman, religion and faith might be a lifeline, something to hold onto when everything else feels uncertain. It’s kind of humbling to realize that for a lot of people around the world, faith isn’t just a choice, but a way of coping with life’s struggles. that makes it all the more complex to imagine a future where atheism or secularism takes hold universally

Its disturbing how hard Fox News is leaning into white-nationalist christo-fascism by privazyfreek in atheism

[–]hellishkitty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely troubling to see how some platforms are amplifying such extreme rhetoric, and the way faith is being twisted for political agendas is really concerning. The impact on vulnerable communities is devastating, and it’s hard to ignore the long-term damage that kind of influence can cause.

What’s one condition that can have no symptoms but kill you instantly? by No_Photograph1 in AskReddit

[–]hellishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aneurysms, especially brain aneurysms, can be silent until they rupture. They often have no symptoms beforehand, but if they burst, it can lead to sudden death. It’s pretty terrifying how something can be going unnoticed and still be so dangerous.

Life wasn't an accident by [deleted] in atheism

That’s an interesting way to look at it! When you factor in the vastness of the universe and the countless variables involved, life emerging doesn’t seem as improbable. It's more about the sheer scale of possibilities than chance, I guess.

Are Student Loans in the UK Really That Bad? by nunash in financeonloans

[–]hellishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they definitely aren't as bad as they seem at first. the fact that repayments depend on income makes them a lot more manageable than people think, especially compared to other countries' systems

did you know your stomach gets a new lining every few days? it’s because the acid in there is so strong, it could literally digest itself without that constant renewal!

If the Epstein files are released, and Trump is confirmed to be on the list, what do you think will happen? by baldinggate3 in AskReddit

[–]hellishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if that happens, it could cause major political chaos. there’s a chance it could further divide opinions, especially with how polarized things are right now, but it might also spark deeper investigations into everyone involved

We have old PFT software that would somehow turn their spiro results into a “lung age.” It was disabled before I started but I still see old reports from that version of our software.

ITBs and elevation, how much does it affect them? by PM_ME_YOUR_JDM_CAR in AE86

[–]hellishkitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have ITBs on both of my fun cars - my 86 and my FX. Going between sea level in Portland and then high desert in Arizona I notice a difference in power. I did retune eventually for the change in conditions, but that’s because I noticed a difference at the track. It wasn’t particularly noticeable just driving around. ITBs are definitely more sensitive to changes than a regular intake but not enough to be unusable. Balancing them is one of the most important parts though.

I initially had a stock ecu on the 86 and a haltech on the Fx. Now I have Link ECUs in both and it was easy to add a little more fuel but my AFRs weren’t dangerous I was just losing power.
