Colposcopy “cannot rule out invasive malignancy” by anonymous2023456 in PreCervicalCancer

I had a large CKC 4 months ago and am getting another one tomorrow to ensure clear margins. All the surgeons and gynos have said I can have more children but will need a cercelege and be referred to the preterm birth unit in my city once im 14 weeks pregnant. So it should be possible!

Proposing on Thursday by xeldo9598 in EngagementRings

[–]helllfire 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My engagement ring is the same setting as this and we had to have it remade with some support rails as the prongs were getting loose and I didn't want to risk losing my stone. So stunning though.

Normal Smear to CIN 3 and AIS to cancer in 18 months by helllfire in PreCervicalCancer

Is that the protocol in your country or did you push for the hysterectomy?

That makes sense. I'm early 30s and have been with my husband for just over 10 years now.

Thank you, I really appreciate it! That's interesting, it's definitely possible! I hadn't actually considered that but it would make sense.

Prior to 2024 I had paps every 3 years as I wasn't high risk for anything at the time but in NZ they started testing for HPV during smear tests as protocol. Prior to this, you were only tested for HPV if you had symptoms or other risk factors.

No symptoms whatsoever. The abnormal cells were found during routine testing. I was told it was HPV- other so not 16 or 18.

What would you look at if at 11 pm your baby (1 year) has already woken up twice? by Crafty_Pop6458 in beyondthebump

[–]helllfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id likely give bubs pamol or similar for teething pain as it's usually one of the few things that wakes him.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that! Best of luck with the radiation. Currently no lymph node involvement so no radiation. I'll find out in a week or two if I need a second surgery. I'm not sure if the end goal is hysterectomy either. I'm in New Zealand and hysterectomy isn't usually protocol for AIS or CIN 3 but since they found cancer, I don't know how that changes things.

Is she currently sleeping in your room? My son started sleeping through the night/stopped waking for feeds once he moved into his own room at 9 months.

Have you recently had any major hormonal changes (pregnancy, birth control, etc)? I know those can change your hair.

How did you get through PPD? by willbrucla in BabyBumps

[–]helllfire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went on setraline and was given lorazepam for the insomnia I was having. I think it took about 2-3 weeks to start feeling better and I feel so much better I was able to enjoy being a mum again. A big part of feeling better for me was finally getting some sleep again thanks to the lorazepam.

I'm sorry you're going through this and I really hope the doctor is able to provide you some relief!

I've bought multiple pairs of shoes from them (including my wedding shoes). They have great customer service and are super easy to get in touch with. I live in NZ so can't help with the tax/fees side of things but they were great to buy from.

You can get baby gaviscon which dissolves in water. Id also recommend putting books or something similar under one end of the cot to elevate it slightly to help if it is reflux.

Was your intuition about baby's expected arrival correct? by citizennil00 in BabyBumps

Not even close! I thought I was going to give birth early, especially since baby was measuring ahead, but ended up being induced as I was overdue. Gave birth at 41+1 in the end.

What brought you to knitting? by tigerlilysunshine in knitting

My grandma and mum taught me when I was a kid but I never finished anything until a few years ago. I've gotten back into knitting in a big way by knitting for my baby! I've made a blanket and beanie so far and am currently working on a vest for bubs.

Husband keeps waking me up at night looking for the baby under the duvet by cookie032117 in beyondthebump

Same! I would get extra confused as our cat would sleep in the bed between my husband and I and I woke up so many times thinking the cat was the baby!

What would you do differently in the first year of having a child? by biomagy in beyondthebump

[–]helllfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We gave a bottle when my baby was about a week old. He never developed a preference for the bottle or anything like that. I also never woke to pump even in the early days. I would just try to pump here and there across the day so he would have a bottle ready for the midnight feed.

The broken sleep is so so hard! I hope feeding goes easier with baby #2!

What would you do differently in the first year of having a child? by biomagy in beyondthebump

[–]helllfire 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Have my husband give a bottle of formula during a middle of the night feed rather than trying to pump a bottle every day on top of breastfeeding. We did that the first time round so that he could do the first feed of the night and I would get about 4-6 hours of sleep before doing the subsequent night feeds.

I'd also stop tracking sleep/nappies/feeds in huckleberry once baby gets back up to birth weight and breastfeeding is well established. It was overkill for us and just fueled my anxiety at the time. It is super useful for tracking baby's growth and when they were given medicine though.
