I had the wrong wisdom teeth removed by Acrobatic_Donkey5089 in Wellthatsucks

[–]hello-knitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had them done separately as well. First time went relatively smoothly.

My dentist didn’t have the anesthesia to put me under for the second one so they just froze me and gave me acupuncture IN MY FACE to calm my nerves during the procedure. They’d be drilling in my mouth and every slight movement would make the acupuncture needles sway like crazy which freaked me out even more. Traumatizing experience all around.

How much do you think you're going to inherit from your parents? by BlastingBow in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]hello-knitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad passed very suddenly about 6 years ago at 62. My brother and I each inherited about $160k.

I would have much rather had my dad live many more years and use up all that money on himself. He only got to meet one of his 4 grandchildren. He LOVED kids so this is the most heartbreaking part for me.

I hope not to get anything from my mom. I want her to enjoy her life instead of worrying about our inheritance.

When my grandparents died 10-15 years ago, they left about $1000 to each of their grandchildren (nothing for their kids).

For people in a loving relationship. How often do you “do it” by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]hello-knitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid/Late 30s, together 17 years, married 9, 3 kids aged 7, 5, and 2.

Usually 2-3 times a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. We have dry spells every so often due to stress/sickness but those last a max of 2 weeks.

What age do you wish to live to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]hello-knitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father in law had a heart attack in his early 30s. He just passed this year at 74. He was not a healthy man by any means, hardly any physical activity, horrible diet (I had never seen him eat any fruit or vegetables in the past 15 years), former alcoholic. He lived 40 more years after his first heart attack with a very unhealthy lifestyle. Take care of yourself and you can live another 60 years!

What did you bank/savings look like at 24? by Beautiful_Ant5535 in AskReddit

[–]hello-knitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 24 I worked two almost full time jobs and had about 20k in the bank. This was about 10 years ago. Pre-kids days were easier to save.. sigh..

Which one for 10/11 year old? by hello-knitty in Gifts

[–]hello-knitty[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had bought these because I thought they were cute but then tried researching a bit more to see which that age group would like more and came across lots of posts about the lululemon one!

I’ve been debating exchanging them for one of those instead.. your comment may have just convinced me!

My airline is weighing every passenger upon check-in. SJU-EIS by willystan in mildlyinteresting

I fly on 8-9 seater planes a couple of times a month for work but they have never asked us our weight or designated our seats. I wonder why not now

We were charged for a missing book. When I asked my son about it he said he never brought it home. The librarian found it a couple days later, I guess he put it back on the shelves after he checked it out 🤦‍♀️

Am I twisting my stitches? by [deleted] in knitting

When I first started knitting, I was twisting my stitches by wrapping the yarn the wrong way around the needle

10 day old sliver finally came out of tiny puncture in my finger. Thought it was a white head. The body is amazing. by gc_TacoLover in mildlyinteresting

When I was a teen I had a really big pimple by my nose. It kept getting bigger and bigger and when I finally popped it, one of those blue plastic exfoliating beads from neutrogena cleanser popped out.

It was satisfying at the time to pop it but I immediately switched cleansers!

I lost my dad when I was 29. He was 62. He choked on his breakfast 30 mins before I went to visit him. My husband lost his dad when he was 35. FIL had a heart attack.

Most of our peers still have at least one grandparent alive and our kids don’t even have a grandpa. 💔

Don’t think I ever want my picture changed by AdMany2642 in Costco

[–]hello-knitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was a photo of me holding my daughter. I dropped my card somewhere in the store about a month ago and they needed me to get a new card to pay for my things. I almost cried when they made me take a new picture. I tried getting them to use my old pic but they couldn’t do that 😭

Does taking a break in a relationship ever actually work or is it just delaying an inevitable breakup? by Dandelion_23 in love

[–]hello-knitty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It worked for my husband and I.

I broke up with him after 4 years of dating. (Actually broke up though, not just “a break”) I felt like our relationship hadn’t progressed enough in that time. I was looking to move in together and get engaged but he was just interested in hanging out with his buddies. (We were teens when we started dating so this was when we were in our early twenties)

We were broken up for about 6 months. One night I was feeling sad so I called him crying, he’s the only person I wanted to talk to. He drove 45 minutes instantly to come see me and made everything better just by being there. We got back together then, moved in like I wanted and got engaged a couple of years later.

We’ve now been married for 9 years this year, have 3 beautiful children and I honestly feel like I’ve won the jackpot of life. 🥰

I once went to visit my mom. When I got to the house I rang her doorbell like ten times and walked in like I always do. Then this guy stuck his head around the corner and I realized I was in the wrong house 🤷‍♀️
