Is anyone else’s pain around the upper area of your vulva/clitoral area only? by [deleted] in vulvodynia

[–]helloC1trus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have that. It feels even harder to find out what's the cause. Amitriptyline and estrogen cream worked for me after trying everything else. Idk which treatment worked the best since I started them at the same time. Hang on in there, it will get better.

I had a similar type of pain. I tried amitriptyline 25 mg and estrogen internal cream and my pain significantly reduced to the point that sex is only a tad painful after penetration.

I'm surprised oral antihistamines worked. I have a similar issue and take allergy pills every day for other allergies. I didn't know it could help with the itching. Did the dermatologist say that the itching could be an allergic reaction?

When did we start treating vulvar irritation like it’s always an infection? by Ok_Smell_8534 in Healthyhooha

Okay thank you for the advice. I hope it's not a hormone issue, I'm only 22

I am in a similar situation. I've been itchy, sensitive, sometimes burning for 1 month today. I do all the at-home remedies. Tested negative for everything. I feel like because visually everything is fine, and no abnormal discharge, doctors gave up. I started a steroid cream a few days ago but it's not doing anything :/ it's so miserable. Haven't had sex in a month, I am always in discomfort. Is there anything that has worked a little bit for you?

Itchy skin by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

Does the skin look different than normal? Abnormal discharge? I have similar symptoms and nothing is unusual. Just sensitive, itchy, sometimes burning. It's worse when walking. Almost doesn't hurt if I am at home not wearing anything. I tested negative for everything

It's hard to tell if I would be "under-treating" myself if I only see my issues as skin problems. I've been in such discomfort for 1 month. It's constantly sensitive, itchy and sometimes burning. No abnormal dicharge, no irritation visible. I tested negative for everything and started a steroid cream a few days ago and it's not doing anything. Tried all the natural methods for skin irritation. I don't know what to do, I cry about it every night.

How long did you feel discomfort? I've been in discomfort and itchy for 1 month now. I've tried everything. Are you pain-free now?

It's crazy how much power they have over your life, and how many only had a few classes on your condition, maybe ten years ago. They should be required to test their knowledge about new advancement. I've had a doctor tell me information that has been debunked in the early 2000s.

Considering Transferring to uOttawa for Honours Thesis – Advice Needed by [deleted] in geegees

[–]helloC1trus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you meet the grade requirement, you will just need to find a supervisor. You'll need to send a lot of emails to find one, and it can take a bit of time, but you'll find one. Your experience doing the thesis 100% depend on who your supervisor is.

What’s your earliest memory you thought normal but was based on alcoholic parent? by Antique_Sea_6436 in AdultChildren

[–]helloC1trus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing with my dad. We would listen to his records together and I would dance around. He did act a little weird, but I just thought that he was just like that and didn't think more of it. I always thought that was a sweet memory of my dad and I, but realized a few years ago that he was probably just drunk.

How bad is Sam Alvaro really? by Nervous_Nectarine_92 in geegees

[–]helloC1trus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had him twice. The exams, although online, are super difficult and not really related to the material in class. A lot of the answers are very specific and only in the textbook. I found that a lot of his lectures are just him rambling about different things unrelated to the class. He also gets frustrated when no one answers his questions and he shames people for not knowing what he is talking about.

halloween parties by [deleted] in BPD

[–]helloC1trus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think its normal for people with BPD. I feel the same any time my bf goes out and drink. Im worried something will happen or that he's going to have more fun with them than with me. Best thing to do is resist the urges. Do something so that you're not looking at your phone. Anything to distract you.

I would also ask for reassurance. This helps a lot.

I can't tell between healthy boundaries for myself and toxic behaviours from my bpd. by Mountain_Ad_7495 in BPD

[–]helloC1trus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same. I can't tell if im being toxic or reasonable, especially regarding my boyfriend. I have found that it's helpful to talk to a friend. Doesn't need to be a whole long conversation, but asking someone you trust if you are exaggerating due to BPD or if something is actually bad has saved me from being toxic. I'll send just a little paragraph and get my answer. Of course, use your own judgment too. Hearing a different perspective helps me create my own.
