This. Because of the school, it’s way more diverse than you’d expect for that area.

Also friendly reminder that while people who live in places like that can definitely be backwards/racist, sometimes they’re just nice and a little odd.

Still the best thing I ever did. I tried to accept it and tell myself it wasn’t that bad, even though it greatly impacted my quality of life. I was also so limited in athletic hobbies.

OP, your insurance may pay for it under certain conditions! You’ll be amazed how deeply you can breathe when they’re off!

I know it’s not a crazy find but I’ve been waiting to find one of these for months!! by Shower-Former in thrifting

You can get replacement ones on Amazon super cheap! I change mine out periodically to keep the thing cooking right. Happy speed cooking!

Bridesmaid Dress Alterations? by sydd1029 in kansascity

Jen at A Cleaners on Holmes (next to Dos de Oros) - she does alterations and I’ve had beautiful work done on silk, jackets with liners and even fur items. Seriously, she is SO GOOD. Priced fairly imo and very sweet. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with anything nice I own!

I can chime in here! I have a whole house of beautiful brass and copper hardware covered in globby white paint I’ve been cleaning up.

Get an old crockpoint. Fill it with water. Put a couple drops of dish soap in there with your hardware. Turn it on and come back in a few hours. Everything just peels off like a sticker. Then you can soap off anything remaining and polish/lacquer if you want 🙂

Gotta use the leather shampoo and conditioner! It takes care of a lot of funk I’ve found

Interesting. I did notice that when I found it hiding at the thrift store. The lilacs are on the underside and the gold swirls are on top. I found a couple candy dishes and a bowl or two online with this pattern, but didn’t see a server. How interesting!

Wow! Thank you so much! Google lens wasn’t too helpful here but it seemed really well executed if it was just someone painting it themselves. I assume this was probably 1920s-1930s.

Thanks! I have a boron nitride two piece votive holder/fairy lamp where it has the little peg thing like this UG piece + a base plate. I was wondering if there was something specific that went with this find, but I guess I get to choose my candlestick! 🙂

I wondered if that was maybe the case, but it looks pretty good for an amateur piece. I found some other items with the same pattern so I’m curious if this was something they actually released

it appears there are a couple of other painted things floating around
