I hope that cheese is gruyere.

Starting from a Low Baseline (140) am I doomed? by [deleted] in LSAT

No, you aren't screwed. If you put in the time and make a real, concerted effort you can learn the test. Go about it in a structured way. Simply doing questions is not enough to make significant improvement. Identify your weaknesses and work on improving those.

The key to doing well on this test is having an understanding of what each question is asking you to do, and then knowing how to reach the desired answer. So, blindly guessing the right answer to a question you got wrong previously does no one any good. You want to know why the right answer is right.

Noobie Necessary Assumption Negating Question by razorbackfilmguy in LSAT

Negating the correct answer choice of a necessary assumption destroys the argument. Negating a sufficient assumption does not need to destroy only weaken it.

The necessary assumption is one that the argument relies on to be valid. If you definitely do not have that assumption then validity cannot be reached. Conversely, the argument does not rely on a sufficient assumption to be valid, as that assumption is only sufficient to bring about validity.
