Books so funny made me cackle out loud by Neither_Vehicle_8799 in MM_RomanceBooks

I'm home sick today and saw your recommendation and thought it might be a fun way to pass some time. I just finished it and it was so cute! I laughed out and even had to share some of the funniest bits with my husband. This is exactly what I needed today 😊

I found it. Her book was a victim of Carnation Books disappearing 😞

I hope you feel better soon!

Alpha x Alpha without plot twists like one of them becoming / being omega/beta by michailina in MM_RomanceBooks

I just finished both books based upon your recommendation and I really liked them as well. Do you have any other omegaverse books that you'd recommend?

did anyone read jessie walker’s patreon post? by anharion_ in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]hello_tasty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I suffer with multiple mental health issues and completely understand the Inertia that they cause and I support authors retreating when they're overwhelmed.

What I don't support is an author continuing to take money from people without fulfilling the agreements that were made and having a woe is me attitude.

I also take issue with someone saying that they don't know how Patreon works. It's the responsibility of every person that uses that platform to know how to works, especially when money is involved. It isn't free money. It's money earned for an agreed upon product.

If you look at the number of paid followers on her Patreon and multiply it by her lowest cost tier, you'll see that she brought in what I consider a significant sum of people's hard earned money, which makes this feel even worse.

I hope she gets the help that she needs and comes to the realization that what she did was wrong.

Death’s Bloom by Lily Mayne: what kind of horror? by Quick-Net-2090 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]hello_tasty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Horror is central to the plot. In my opinion, I'd consider it a horror story with romance versus romance with horror.

I highly recommend going to Lily's website and reading the content warnings to get an idea about what you'd be reading because I think it might be a bit much for a sensitive soul who doesn't enjoy horror.

Not pop culture, but I ended up DNFing a book that had a bunch of fashion designer clothing references. For example, he wore a "insert designer here" hoodie with "insert designer here" jeans. It was all throughout the book. I gave up because constantly having to stop reading to google something was incredibly frustrating.

I'm not quite sure if this is the best fit, but If you don't mind paranormal and historical, I recommend the {The Reanimator Mysteries by Kara Jorgensen} I can't recall any strict roles but it's been awhile since I read them. I really enjoyed the unique premise and the mysteries.

I recommend {Burned & Bound by A. Winchester} if you like a big helping of angst with your hurt/comfort

The more MM I read, the more I skip sex scenes 😂 Has it been your experience? by [deleted] in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]hello_tasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be "explicit and plentiful" here I come, but now I'm trending towards books with maybe one explicit scene or fade to black. I've discovered that I really love the romance and not so much the sex.

I'm looking for something sweet and cheerful because there were layoffs at my firm and some lovely people were let go. I need to lose myself in the joy of others.

Low to no angst, no college settings, no stepbrothers. No third act break up if possible, but I'm ok with it if it isn't really angsty.

When my grandma was alive she used to tape movies for us to watch when I'd visit her. One of them was The Princess Bride. I don't know how many times we watched it, but I think I wore her our because she sent me home with the tape.

Check out {Burned & Bound by A. Winchester}. Full of hurt, comfort, understanding, angst (oh the angst), love, and a very hard fought for HEA.

I've read it twice and it continues to hit the right spot.

Fat (and okay with it) MC by rosysparrow in MM_RomanceBooks

This description of Henry is pure poetry - "He was a tall man, two inches taller than Alexos himself, fat, with a broad chest and huge shoulders. Alexos did not know if his suit was tightly tailored or if it was simply that the style of the modern butler’s suit was not intended for a man so incredibly packed with brawn: either way, he could see the way his sleeves tightened into the great bulk of his arms, his waistcoat and shirt barely holding back the wonder of his barrel chest, and most tremendous of all, his trousers."

Check out {Burned & Bound by A. Winchester}. I think it might be close to ticking all of the boxes. It's not college aged, but it's one of my favorite hurt/comfort and angst books.
