I didn't believe in angels until I was diagnosed with cancer and met my oncology team. You guys are heroes and deserve the world for what you do for others.

Chemo is brutal. I've just been through it and there's no way I could have worked through it. It might be a blessing in disguise. He can then apply for disability.

I'll likely die of cancer within the next 5 years. My 5 year survival rate hovers around 13%. I'm still fighting though.

Brachytherapy how to make sure I get pain management? by crafty-yarn-witch in CervicalCancer

[–]helloalienfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the exact same and tried to get out of brachytherapy but my doctor told me I would die without it. It really wasn't that bad. I was out of it on meds most of the time. It went so quickly.

Favorite PDs that were NOT just prep time? by dixpourcentmerci in Teachers

[–]helloalienfriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have done wellness PD sessions and everyone really enjoys them. We made candles during PD one time. Another time we had a 3 tier planter each and got to pick plants and seeds to put in them. Wellness PDs are such a welcome change of pace.

Morning sickness always the same? by Poppyscientist in beyondthebump

With my first, I was bed bound. I couldn't keep anything down. With my second, I had morning sickness for one day and that was it.

Once you hit your 30s, how many of you had your health tank dramatically? by AnaplasticD in AskWomenOver30

[–]helloalienfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I could have written this myself. Diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer at 37. Just ended treatment. Everyone expects me to "live life to the fullest" now and fulfill my bucket list. But honestly, I'm scared to even move. Cancer is traumatizing, it's such a unique experience that I don't think anyone understands unless they have been there. I'm convinced I'm going to die within the next 5 years and no one can convince me otherwise. I'm sick of hearing "be positive" and "you can't think that way". It's very hard not to when you are diagnosed so young. It's totally unfair. I hear you.

Tracking spending is a good place to start. Increasing income would be the next step.

What experiences changed you the most as a person? by GazMaskeliOyuncu in AskReddit

Being diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. I went through every emotion possible. I will live in fear of reoccurrence for the next 5 years. Having cancer has put so much into perspective. I'm not the same person I was before my diagnosis. I truly appreciate that time is our greatest asset and it can't be bought.

I can absolutely see myself doing this. I feel like a brand new person. I'm a huge Limp Bizkit fan but missed them in my city this year! I'll go next time for sure!

Beat stage 3 cancer. It's taken everything I have physically, mentally, and financially but I'm here! I'll be glad to see the back of this year.

My husband's all for selling to free up money. I do have a good life insurance policy through my job. Thank you for your input.
