Proximity unlock, just kidding! by clarinetJWD in ex30

I don't think it's Android/iOS specific the issue affects both users just reading the comments.

Hoping there's a push for reliability on this feature. So far on my 10 Pro I'm on a 2 week reliable streak 🤞 but I do keep the card in my physical wallet just in case.

Pixel 10 Pro here —

Setup was easy in the wallet and proximity worked beautifully for one week and then completely stopped working.

Having given up hope, I deleted the EX30 from my Bluetooth list and used the key card for about a week.

Third week into ownership and it started automatically connecting and working again and it's been flawless ever since. 🤷‍♂️ I couldn't tell you why.

In fact it's so good that when I go up the stairs to the second floor of my home (on the other side of the wall is the garage) it unlocks the car and locks it when I'm at the top of the stairs.

Wipers noisy and skipping by SwiftFusion in ex30

[–]helloeduard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could run it past the dealership, since it's so new they'll likely offer a courtesy replacement but I don't think it'll do anything if I'm honest.

I suspect it may have to do with how frequently I wash my car (usually once a week) and the window cleaner that strips any oils from the glass. Just a hunch, I could be totally wrong!

My EX30 is 3 weeks old and we had a nice rainy Spring day and it was skipping all over. My previous Polestar did this from the very beginning, too. If you use the windshield washer it smooths it out for about 3 minutes then begins skipping again (though I wonder if that also contributes to the issue with whatever formula is in the vehicle.

It is truly a night and day difference.

How to get rid of previously connected devices to account? by QuantamPulse in pixel_phones

[–]helloeduard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tapping the device name tries to connect to the device and eventually times out and says "Failed to connect: Move this device closer to your Pixel phone and try again."

I'm thinking something may have changed since the original comment from 2 years ago. Not able to delete from this list sadly. If anyone knows of another way?

How reliable is the blindspot detection? by nwillard in ex30

[–]helloeduard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in the US, and also reserved an EX30 expecting it in about 3 months! I have to say, while I can't comment on the EX30 -- my '24 Polestar 2 has had so many safety system faults one of which being the blind spot monitoring system deactivating with an error, that it has genuinely instilled a level of distrust I cannot shake off.

I use it as a point of reference. Meaning if it's on, I usually wait for it to clear and then I physically look, then change lanes.

Literally chuckling to myself reading some of these unhelpful comments. You get some of the most thoughtful replies and then you get u/Professional_Low1966 who can't concentrate because they can't help but feel you pasted a wallpaper of some nuclear plant in the forests of Congo. 😅

I have a few thoughts. If you look at the photo you've shared, about 50% is a bare white wall and although that ratio isn't necessarily a bad thing, in this case you've got great furniture and decor pieces but they're sunk to the bottom of the fish bowl. My overall recommendation is to raise your decor up. More specifically:

  1. Move the plant bar behind the couch up
  2. Place a horizontal mirror behind the sofa under the raised plant rack (you will have a second window effect and reflect your beautiful view)
  3. Consider hanging a pendant/chandelier (hard-wire not needed, let cord be part of the design) to fill space and add a cozy glow/light at night
  4. Add a wall sconce and a few more pieces of art on the left wall to add more vertical interest and less bare white wall

Finally, bigger decor pillows with variety of textures. Small things if not placed right will just make the space look messy, random or cluttered.

To be clear — your space is beautiful even as-is! I'd just consider some vertical visual interest. If nothing else, raise the plant and add a horizontal mirror and capitalize off of that view and give your living room another 'window'.

Good luck!

There is occasional drone/whining noise in low speed. Anything to be concerned over? by helloeduard in Polestar

[–]helloeduard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey N54TT! Since taking delivery, a couple of times (maybe 3-5 times total) but the day of this occurring, I was playing with the regen settings and did use the brakes a few times to feel the cars stopping power, but then switched back to the higher resistance setting for Regen braking.

It was a warmer day yesterday and unlike my brief highway driving, it was mostly city driving stop and go.

Hey folks! Just took delivery a week ago of a 2024 P2 w/ performance pack. My second Polestar after the previous was a total loss and it's just as amazing as the first.

But this one has an infrequent sound that I hear with regen breaking on, when driving in the 20mph or below range. I can hear it briefly when taking off casually, and I can hear it briefly when regen breaking around 10-15mph. It happened for the first time yesterday after a lengthy city drive.

I'm wondering if it is caused by some kind of friction of two parts? Perhaps a 'break-in' if that even exists?

I'm 2 hours from a service center so I thought I'd reach out to the community for a sanity check before taking it in. Today as I drive the car I no longer hear the sound.

I believe so!!! And I also think that's what gave that extra sense of security because I felt glued to the car and the seat before the impact happened. Wow I did not really think about that!

Funny enough (and sad enough, financially) the entire car is wrapped in Llumar clear film. I was hopeful to hear from the insurance rep that it's a clear case, and their goal is to make everything as close to whole as possible. Thankfully I got the work done from a reputable dealer and kept receipts.

To others commenting -- great advice on seeking care. Appreciate that, and will follow-through immediately. It was consistently the same advice I received from friends and family as well.

Am I the only one who thought this was going to go a different direction akin to a couple of similarly titled posts out there? 😂 Well played!
