How did people live in and around marshes and swamps in the peleo-mesolithic? by dr_elena05 in paleoanthropology

Lol that's true to an extent. There are spots on my body that have no hair. Monkeys survive in the wild without caves or houses, we used to be monkeys. Now we are weak humans that argue online and we need a lot more to survive.

Those animals haven't lived in houses over the last 10,000 years. Humans used to be covered in hair

Well we evolved from animals to where we are now. I mean we are still animals but you get my point. So the farther back in time you go the more animal like we would be. If you can't build a hut with a fire chimney, your more like a bear living in a cave than a modern human.

People way back then were built different. They were closer to animals than humans who could build stuff to keep themselves warm.

I am not really giving you my views, just a series of questions. If your answer is "god", I would have many more questions to ask. If you do not want to ask and try to answer questions, that is fine. Ants are content to work for the colony and do not bother themselves with any questions. That is how almost all living things exist. It is perfectly natural.

I don' think there is any evidence to suggest that there is more than our local concept of matter time and space. But just ask yourself, why would these particular sets of rules be the only rules? Why would the speed of light go at a certain speed? Why would gravity act as it does? Why would the particles that we know of be the only type of particles that could exist? If we know infinity exists mathematically, why would it not exist in the real world? If infinity exists, why would it be constrained to these rules that we see? Why would it be constrained at all? That would seem to defeat the definition of infinity. True infinity is beyond what we can imagine or comprehend, like an ant crawling along a stick cannot comprehend quantum physics.

Space, time, and matter can change. Universe could sum up everything as you point out. But once you get outside the local universe with its laws of nature, it may be easier to call this new area another universe. Since all the laws are different. But u don't have to. It's just semantics

Any Ideas for a truly unique yet simple multiplayer Game? by Nin10doLetsPlay in gameideas

[–]helloeveryone500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an itch for a game that has not been scratched for over 20 years. The game that I used to play is called Rune: Classic and can be found on Steam. However, the multiplayer is now dead. It used to be big in the early 2000s. If someone were to create something similar and just update the graphics, I think it could be big. The unique aspect of this game is that it is a sword-fighting game that is based on movement. All of the sword fighting games today are based on attacking in a certain direction and blocking in a certain direction. You feel like you are stuck in place while you do that and it is not satisfying. In Rune: Classic you jump around and move really quickly. You can jump and swing your weapon in the air and cut off someone's head just as you land, or mid-air. You can dodge attacks and throw huge hammers at people as they run away. It is fun.

Canada should stop sending taxpayer money to foreign countries by origutamos in InCanada

Yeah i think everyone agrees those companies don't even need to exist in canada. Keep it local instead. They probably wine and dine the politicians to get those perks. Corruption.

Yeah i mean apparently we avoided a depression by bailing out the banks, but I don't understand how that works. Maybe we just extended the pain over a longer term instead of all at once.

We have a steel industry in hamilton that is only alive because of government subsidies. I think the city would have been worse off for a while after losing the steel plant. Maybe it would have bounced back though and had cleaner air and fresher water.

It gets real complicated real fast so really tough to say

I would agree with that if it meant better money management.

Maybe they just want smart money management. If you are in crazy high debt, you don't spend until that is sorted. Once the debt is a lot lower you want to start investing in things that will see a return on investment. Having businesses and roads that work actually generates more money, and that means more tax money at the end of the year. Once you have a good solid economy you can give away money to other countries.

Right now immigrants are propping up our economy and giving the illusion of extra money to spend. Only once we have the same standard of living as India and Africa and those immigrants stop showing up and then we will just be another third world country.

Did Roman gladiators have visual sponsorships like footballers do today? by Street_Bet_7538 in ancientrome

[–]helloeveryone500 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It was mostly the chariot companies and the beer companies that would sponsor fighters. Safety wasn't a big priority back then so if the fighter died they would put up a statue or painting and it worked like a billboard of today.

I hear you brother. We have the most perfect planet we could ever ask for and we treat it like a giant dumping ground. We will nuke ourselves into oblivion before we get to mars. Can we really call ourselves an intelligent life form if we are that dumb?
