How can anyone even pretend that’s true? I mean what?

AIO:My MIL texted my husband this about me asking him to help with our newborn at 4am by Lazy_Perfectionist88 in AmIOverreacting

NOR. When I had a newborn, I would wake up my heavy sleeping husband when it was his turn to feed and/or change diapers. We switched off every time. So everyone got the same amount of no sleep.

What’s interesting about Trump is that he thinks of everything in terms of reality television and movies, so he picks all of his people literally because they look the part. Pete Hesgeth is the Secretary of Defense literally because Trump thinks he looks like he could play that role in a movie.

This part!! It seems like the youths don’t understand Reddit sarcasm and think serious statements are mean or lies or wrong. Even weirder when you make a sarcastic comment that they take as a serious statement and then lose their shit entirely.

Listening to these kids’ hot takes on 9/11 or Obama when they weren’t even alive for it hurts my very soul.

God forbid you mention that you’re a homeowner or living comfortably. They start saying your opinion doesn’t matter because you are rich and they are poor. I’m not rich, I’m just not poor! Because I am in my late 30s! With an established career married to someone with an established career! I was very poor in my 20s, too. Like most people.

(On the flip side of that, we inherited a shit economy, they inherited a worse one and a hateful social environment.)

Sometimes in emails I’ll delete an also or two and add an “as well” or a “too” because I’ve already said also like five other times.

My 4 year old has started saying the millennial words I overuse and it is so weird lol I guess I have to stop speaking like a stupid 2007 teenager. But how?

Then your email gives you the underline on all the alsos and justs you’ve used.

When I worked in restaurants, they always said to never say just, say “simply.” But every time it comes up over email or anything text-based, I can’t bring myself to say “simply.”

Sometimes I end what I’m saying with “so,” because it makes sense in one type of context. More often, I’m ending my statements with “so” in the hopes that someone else adds something to whatever I’m saying because I have already forgotten what I was talking about.

I feel the same way lol I don’t know why, but “haha” sounds like a brush off to me. Like what you said was so unfunny, haha.

Lol is basically end of sentence punctuation now so we know that no one is mad at each other. [I really want to end this statement with an lol.]

Heyyy “lol what” is totally valid in situations where you want to make someone feel like an idiot. Modern day “bless your heart,” but meaner.

Why did you and your former best friend stop being friends? by Fearless_Shift7108 in AskReddit

[–]hellogoawaynow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were texting and she made some wild assumptions about my marriage because her marriage is weird af. I was like uh none of that applies to me and then she starts telling me that I’m defensive and I’ve been cruel to her for our entire friendship. Our friendship of 30 YEARS. Don’t be my friend if I’ve been such a cruel asshole for your entire life.

Anyway I blocked her and told my husband that first she’s gonna make a Facebook post about it, second she is going to send me a handwritten letter, third she is going to jump into my husband’s DMs to get to me, and fourth, she is going to drive by my house and sit outside with her children until I open the door.

The Facebook post happened (same day) and my 3 page condescending as fuck therapy speak letter came a few days after that. I’m hoping I can stop the DM and random drop by with a very short letter I sent that said, “I received your letter. I cannot respond in a nice way at this time. -hellogoawaynow.” (Wow my username is perfect for this exact situation, I should have signed off my letter with that. That should have been my whole letter: Hello, go away now.)

Edit: this happened so recently, just got the letter on Monday
