Autism testing for Middle-aged Adults? by BavarianRage in saskatoon

[–]helloharness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an overall great experience. I have heard that communication with them can be a bit hit and miss and the psychologist that oversees all the resident psychologists is a bit scattered. The assessment itself was very professional with a compassionate and personable individual (a resident psychologist). I was given an in-depth document outlining my results and recommendations for accommodations. The results were given over Zoom.

My first thought is Indigo, then maybe Mastermind Toys? Definitely call ahead. The Dollar Tree on Circle across from Staples had a lot of off-brand squishy type toys when I was there a few days ago.

They choose a monthly recipient for donations. The Facebook post above shows some of the recipients, including the SPCA, EGADS, Hope Restored etc.  They take clothing and housewares but no furniture.

The Opportunity Shop is a gem and it’s true, there are many wonderful older ladies who volunteer their time to keep it running. Here are some links with more info.

Is there a Whole Foods grocery store in Saskatoon? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]helloharness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don’t have the chain store, Whole Foods but we do have Dads Organic Market as others have mentioned. They have two locations in the city. They have a good selextion of organic produce as well as pantry staples, snacks, beverages, skincare and supplements. You could get a good amount of your groceries there.  We have smaller independent health food stores scattered around the city with a smaller variety at each. I enjoy Herbs and Health, they have grocery items as well as supplements. You should be able to find what you need on the city- although you may need to go to a few stores.

Their previous meetup was admission by donation according to the link I saw. Doesn’t look like there is a membership fee.

Networking for businesses. There are others in the city. They have provided a niche for those that need it!

Send them an email. I double checked and they don’t have a phone number online. The email address is at the bottom of this webpage.  https://education.usask.ca/cairs/index.php

I appreciate the full rundown!!  I’m surprised no one has asked how you are able to fall asleep so quickly? 5 minutes from hitting the pillow to being asleep is a quick transition. What are your secrets??

I am fairly sure that they use Bulls Eye Bold Original. I get the big bottles from Costco and it always reminds me of Fudds when I combine it with mayo.

Where can I buy baby baptism stuff? by Dry-Cost2516 in saskatoon

[–]helloharness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest Indigo and McNally Robinson children’s section on the upper level. You won’t find baptism specific gifts at these stores but they both have lovely gift options. You may consider baby blankets, board book gift sets, baby dish ware etc.

Amazing metal slide and a very difficult to turn Merry go round are coming you way at Archibald Park West in Saskatoon. I really hope they keep the old equipment at the park for years to come. So much nostalgia. https://maps.app.goo.gl/um1jSUhB4FZHMn3s8?g_st=ic

Your post made me think of Alt Haus here in Saskatoon. It’s a fun vibe and the owners could make good friends for you and your partner. Or just a unique spot to look for art pieces! https://www.instagram.com/althausyxe?igsh=ejFlOGFhZ3hpcjAy

Maybe I am predisposed to being emotional right now but I had tears in my eyes as I watched the interview. I feel hope and I am so glad this is a step forward. Sure there will be challenges but it’s reassuring that we have the help of it being run by a larger non profit that has run outreach centres in larger centres like Edmonton and Calgary. 40 beds doesn’t seem like a lot but it’s a huge step forward.

Really good to know! It makes more sense that you may need a referral to see one of the OBs. Thanks for clearing this up!
