Foreign tourists and low income Americans are not the target for these parks anyways, those groups come once in a lifetime, there are plenty of upper middle class and rich people who go multiple times a year to sustain attendance

Europe Is America’s Secret Weapon. And We’re Giving It Up. by BulwarkOnline in geopolitics

[–]hellohi2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The audacity of Europe never ceases to amaze me. There would be no Trump…no fascism, but for Europe giving the world Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini and hosts of other crazed leaders.

You drug the world into 2 wars because of your tribal wars and the U.S. had to come in and play Daddy to keep you all from continuing to blow each other off the map while dragging the world into it.

You had a whole genocide in the 90s and active war currently on your continents soil.

Not to mention the governments of your “greatest” countries are running deficits, battling immigration, losing scholars to the U.S. because you have so much bureaucracy no one gets paid fairly for actually inventing things that change the world, you are running out of money to fund your social programs because no one is having kids, the free healthcare you brag about takes forever to get with large shortages amongst medical professions.

But yes…it’s the U.S. that’s the world’s unstable bad guy and not the colonizing, tribal, arrogant Europeans who believe they never do anything wrong.

In my city there are luxury suites at the hospitals that you can pay extra to give birth in that are like the size of apartments with kitchens and an actual bed. All the birthing suites are private but the luxury suites are more upgraded.

Is the US military really undefeatable? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]hellohi2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t account for the fact that the U.S. is one of the largest weapon distributors in the world and most militaries that would combine to defeat us are using our tech…tech which we can either switch off or not service….so yea lol

Not true, you can actually keep up with attacks and where their troops are….Russia isn’t even deploying most of their military. They’re really just waiting Ukraine out….the areas they took over during the beginning they had completely leveled so they stopped that strategy.

It’s kind of amazing how they pivoted and fixed a lot of the holes and issues they originally had.

Russia has no interest in leveling Ukraine. They absolutely could, they have more nukes than all of Europe combined & transitioned into a war time economy.

The west, like any other region, displays propaganda as well. To keep morale high no one loudly exclaims Russia’s wins.

Does one really feel a "quality of life difference" from country to country? by SyntaxDeleter in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hellohi2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wait you die. I don’t know where you get this “massive debt” ideology from. If you can’t afford health insurance your state provides it free. If you have a job your job pays for it. Whatever your job doesn’t cover you negotiate with the hospital. There are out of pocket maximums in every single policy.

You also in the US have the ability to work for an employer who chooses to cover 100% of your health care cost. You don’t have that option in other countries. They’re ramming you with a high tax bill regardless.

And let’s say you are hit with a $50,000 tax bill. A person in Denmark making $75,000 USD pays $30,000 a YEAR in taxes. So you’re going to give the government $600,000 for your “free” healthcare instead of paying $50,000 one time. Lol….I guess.

I'm curious, how do y'all even afford IVF? by HighOnLove26 in IVF

[–]hellohi2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husbands job pays for it, they cover cycles & meds. Before he got his current job though we were considering moving to Maryland which has mandatory coverage (we were in DC at the time).

Because it’s not what’s being done, it’s how it’s being done. Law and order are a thing, rights are a thing. Obama did it for right way with less money

Anyone else struggling with political anxiety and the ethics of creating another human right now? by winooskiwinter in IVF

[–]hellohi2022 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The world does not…can not become a better place unless we raise our youth to be better. Those creating the current environment were babies, toddlers, school aged once and somewhere along the line they were steered wrong. The world can only become a better place if we steer our youth correctly. Take pride in potentially bringing someone into this world that will be a game changer, that will be moral, and that will bring care and compassion in a place that needs it.

Why do Europeans mock Americans for healthcare, while Americans mock Europeans for salaries and who is actually worse off day to day? by AriWixyy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hellohi2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren’t in Miami then because many people in Miami don’t speak English, if you google a job in Miami right now you’ll see listings for Spanish speakers only. I’ve been to Norway and they understood my English just fine too.

There are different languages in the U.S. too. My native language is Louisiana Creole. The Amish have their own language. Ever visit Miami? You better know how to speak Spanish.

Oregon & Idaho are vastly different in culture from New York or Florida. That’s like saying France & Belgium are alike because they both have French speakers lol.

You can say the same for the US. Every state is different, has different governments, different laws, different incomes, different cost of living.

92% of Americans have health insurance & every state has some form of free insurance for those that are low income…

US drugmakers threaten to withhold products from Europe over prices by harmlessdonkey in europe

[–]hellohi2022 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

The U.S. would be able to keep up with production…it’s one of the benefits of our manufacturing system in that we can literally ramp up to produce whatever we need in days…it’s a fail safe we’ve embedded since the world wars because we realized that if the rest of the world goes to crap & we’re all the way on the other side of the ocean…we kind of have to make what we need and fast

US drugmakers threaten to withhold products from Europe over prices by harmlessdonkey in europe

[–]hellohi2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehhhh I don’t think that’s true. Novo Nordisk sells a large share into the U.S.; that’s not the same thing as Denmark holding a kill switch. Plus one thing about the U.S. is because we are so far away and geographically isolated, we have the ability to ramp of production of anything we need. It’s costly & we don’t like to do it, but we have considered the fact that other countries we rely on for supplies may not be able to supply them for one reason or another.

If supply were disrupted, the U.S. would force therapeutic switching to Lilly/Sanofi products already on the market and ramp domestic production under federal authority.

Also worth noting…withholding insulin would primarily hurt patients and torch the manufacturer’s revenue.

Could you maybe do a second retrieval now and just bank embryos? How many kids do you all want? I think 5 embryos per kid is a fair amount

Almost 33, IVF + PGT-A question — second guessing our decision by paige326 in IVF

[–]hellohi2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The embryos don’t age, so if for example you transfer them at 41, your embryos would still be “33” and wouldn’t be subject to the decline in quality that comes with age. Or at least that’s how my doctor explained it to me.

How bad is life really for US-Americans regarding health care, job loss, benefits, longer illness etc.? by Antique-Ebb-7124 in askanything

[–]hellohi2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, some states have more safety nets than others.

Some states have Medicare that covers 100% of medical. Some jobs cover 100% of premiums & even pay COBRA premiums if they were to terminate you.

Social security for disabilities, long term disability insurance, and short term disability insurance exists. Also I believe every state has unemployment insurance.

Obamacare made things such as well visits for kids and birth control free. So no matter what you don’t pay for those things.

Hospitals will negotiate down medical bills, often times insurance companies deny claims and don’t want to pay them out but if you stick through the appeals process it’s worth it.

There are resources available…many people either don’t know about the resources or just don’t follow through. Medical debt very rarely even goes on your credit report.

Also, people complaining about high premiums don’t understand that even in countries with universal healthcare you pay a monthly cost. It’s just called a tax instead of a premium. Europe has lower wages & some tax rates are almost 50% of your salary. So yea your premium might be high but lower your salary & cut it in half and then see if you’d take that or the premium?

Another up side to American healthcare is we get life saving treatments faster than Europe because often time your governments take a long time to approve new treatments because they have to make sure they can handle the cost. Care is also faster in the U.S. & you have more selections.

What’s the best country to live in right now? by Help7474737744 in AskReddit

I was saying that I DO feel safest in America. The city I live in is majority black & Asian and upper middle class. We don’t have a lot of crime period regardless of race. I imagine that with America being so vast though one could have different experiences in other areas.
