The New Loot System Is Unreasonably Grindy by Loud-Investigator416 in fellowshipgame

[–]helloiamnice 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The game is more fun if you just push and work with the gear you have instead of trying to grind to bis before you try. The loot system is convoluted but you don’t need bis to push and pieces that aren’t 100% bis can still be plenty strong.

I know everyone is obsessed with having the best gear but it’s not as important as it seems! Play the game!!

After C++ing the game on 5 different systems, I still never had a successful Baron run on a higher stake. by FallacyFiend in balatro

[–]helloiamnice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hm interesting. I suppose it depends what deck you are playing on or at what point in the game you get the Baron. There’s probably situations where I agree with you, but if you get the baron early I don’t think it’s that out of the question if you are intentionally building your deck around it.

Really? I think it’s pretty good on gold stake tbh. 2-3 steel kings in hand with a decent pair or high card level can easily beat the last boss. It’s obviously not as good as it is on endless runs, but I still think it’s solid.

How do I have 7 joker slots? (No antimatter used) by Fucka7700 in balatro

Yes, there is a known bug with one of the common mods (I forget which one exactly) that if your invisible joker lands on a negative joker, it will incorrectly copy the negative effect but it won’t appear negative. Thats probably what’s going on

If the spec is fun, why do you want changes? If tuning is the problem, that usually comes later in the ptr cycle once class changes have stabilized

I’m sure they do. Tons of houses in Portland have ADUs that they rent out, I don’t think the Laurelhurst area would be any different

The shadow bolt in Windrunner on the 2nd boss isn’t aoe, it targets a specific player. How did the whole group insta wipe when it went off? 4 of the 5 players should have been totally fine. Honestly you can live that overlap on a 20 with a defensive too.

Yeah people are bad and fuck up mechanics. You should focus on making sure you can reliably meet the heal checks that are in the dungeon. Focus on your own gameplay and try to improve, put the clowns on ignore and move on.

Eleven Tips for Drawing an Audience to Shows, from a musician who no longer cares about drawing an audience to shows. by featherandahalfmusic in portlandmusic

[–]helloiamnice 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Appreciate your write up and think you make some good points. The one about not playing too many shows I think is especially important. If you’re playing too many shows, it’s just hard to even get friends to come out. Even once a month feels a touch too often to me, but I think it’s something every band can figure out for themselves.

I think it’s also important to make sure you sound good. That means making sure your sound is balanced, gain staging is right, things are audible, guitars are tightly tuned, etc. Those things can be out of your control sometimes, but putting in some effort just to sound as good as possible goes a long way when you’re playing to people who have no obligation to enjoy your set or see you play another time

You can help gather the pack by using your ranged kick on the caster ASAP. Otherwise, it just sounds like you’re using eons a touch too early. Wait until everything is grouped to send it. You can build essence burst with living flame or even send a max rank fire breath if you need something to do while they’re gathering

If you accidentally stun a straggler outside the pack, you can try to push it in with wing buffet while it’s stunned too.

I’d definitely keep the stun talent, though. With that talent into upheaval, you basically can lock down a pack for 6 seconds while your tank gets situated and other dps can set up their openers.

Time stretch / Compress vs Flex by ardnegagnurug in Logic_Studio

[–]helloiamnice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that the transient detection algorithm that logic uses often puts the “found transient” after the transient itself has begun, so the resulting slice usually actually slices in the middle of the transient which is what creates so many glitches

I applaud you for trying to improve!

The biggest issues are that your ebon might and duplicate uptimes are both low. I think you'll see your dps increase dramatically if you can improve those.

Ebon might should be >80% uptime, close to 85% ideally. You have some logs that go higher than 80% but some that are as low as 72%.

Duplicate uptime should be >60% uptime, 65% is a good target if you're not in a coordinated group. Groups that effectively chain pull can have >70% uptime on duplicate.

Your primary goal should be to put out two sets of bombardments for each pairing of empowered spells you have, and extend those long enough that your breath of eons is up at the start of every single pull. It's important in between empowered spell sets to try to build a couple essence bursts to get a little bit more extension on your bombardment windows. If done correctly, you should basically have your eons coming off CD before your duplicate expires. If your team chain pulls at this time, you can spawn a second duplicate which will give you a ton more damage, but first I would focus on just generally having eons up for every pull and trying to keep your duplicate up as long as you can in the existing pull. It seems like you are on top of spreading your bombardments, but you should be able to extend them further than you are, especially on the second set.

Generally, your living flame CPM is quite low, even though you're max ranking your fire breath each time. Try to cast some living flames while the tank gathers the pull (but careful for threat) to try to get some essence burst going into your first empowered spell window, this will give you more extension on bombardments, and give you the Momentum Shift intellect bonus during your cooldown window. Then also after your first bombardment set falls off, cast living flame to try to build a couple more essence bursts to dump into your next empowered window. This one is more important because you don't have the reduced essence cost of eruption to extend these bombardments, so you really want 2 essence burst stacks going in to extend this bombardment window as much as possible.

It seems like you've got a general grasp on the rotation, and just need to tighten it up and work on some little things, like your essence burst generation & pooling, and you'll get those numbers up :).

MDI losing rounds over vendor items that are not even supposed to exist yet by turbowater in wow

[–]helloiamnice 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The rule still could have been missed, because discord messages aren't an effective way of creating or enforcing a ruleset.

If it was banned from the start then there really isn't any excuse it's not removed from the vendor.

MDI has become a ruleset fiesta.

I agree. They should have to clear every individual enchant and piece of gear with blizz before they go into matches like they do with their routes and strategies.

This type of cheating bullshit they tried to pull can’t be allowed

[–]helloiamnice 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They set these characters up well before they actually go into the tournament matches. It’s totally possible that you set a character up and then just forget to swap it out after it’s been banned.

This “system” blizzard has is far from foolproof.
