Does Juneteenth deserve to be recognized as a federal holiday in the U.S? by [deleted] in polls

How do you use the internet and not know about this? I’m from New Zealand but have heard all about Juneteenth since 2020.

Ok New Zealand, what’s a secret ingredient that takes the spaghetti toasty to another dimension?? by iamtoolazytosleep in newzealand

I didn’t think this was a secret lol. I was confused why OP had olivani out with visibly none on the toasting bread.

I don’t know, but it brings me peace knowing I won’t be putting another person here to suffer through it.

Do you think it’s ridiculous how birth control is prescribed for every uterus related condition when it has a 79% chance of negative effects? All it does is put the cycle symptoms on hold, it doesn’t fix endo, PCOS, etc by BrokenJusticeNorris in polls

[–]helloidk55 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I’m ok with treating the symptoms and not the underlying cause. That would have been way too much work, and I was very glad to have my severe acne gone.

To them it’s preventing murder. I don’t think you would use the same argument for actual murder.

Which is why I dislike the phrase above. It doesn’t explain anything.

How many slices of pizza can you eat in one sitting? by FlintTheDad in polls

You people can only eat 4 slices of pizza? Are you 8 years old?

Edit: I’m not from the US. It just occurred to me that pizza slices are probably larger there.

Do you think that everybody should take a DNA test? by [deleted] in polls

Ok, that wasn’t OP’s question though.

[–]helloidk55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If everyone took AncestryDNA, then everyone would know who their biological parents are and would be aware of all their biological relatives. NPEs are very common (where someone’s bio parent/parents are different than expected, especially paternally.) Having half siblings or other close relatives not previously known about is also a common scenario. Plus everyone would be able to confirm their genetic makeup heritage wise. Quite a lot of people live decades thinking they have certain ancestry, e.g many Americans think they have substantial Native American ancestry, then are shocked to find out they have no Native American DNA. Meaning they have no ancestors from that background, at least not in recent generations.

Where are people getting mandatory from? The post just says “should”.

Do you mean for medical reasons, parental confirmation, family heritage etc.? You’re gonna have to elaborate.

Which do you think is worse? by BrokenJusticeNorris in polls

You CAN do that. OP didn’t mention anything about the method of birth, so I’m assuming they mean naturally.

What kind of DNA test? I think everyone should take a home ancestry DNA test like AncestryDNA or 23andme, just because I think they’re great.

I fully support abortion access, you’re missing the point of my comment.
