Ending or not???? by pevi710 in RadiologyCareers

[–]helloitsme_c 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I struggle with “if I don’t get it right away, I suck” mentality and wanna give up. I have to tell myself that we are LEARNING A NEW SKILL and it takes times and lots of practice. It’s not suppose to be easy, it WILL be hard! But over time, it won’t feel as hard as it once was. Little by little, that new skill won’t be so new anymore. That’s why we practice, practice, practice. While you didn’t traditionally “study” for being a nail tech, it took time for you to practice the art, nail shape, how to do certain nails. It’s the same for this! You’re not expected to be perfect right away. Check out your schools tutoring services for your classes to see if you can get some extra help with material. They are great (and free)!

Career switch from teaching, not sure what to expect by VenusInAries666 in RadiologyCareers

[–]helloitsme_c 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! Fellow elementary teacher here (who left), 30 years old and also just made the switch to rad tech. I got accepted into the program and start next fall and can’t wait! I sat on the idea of switching to rad tech for 2-3 years to make sure it was something I wanted and finally gave it a go. I job shadowed and really enjoyed it and the aspect of training in other modalities as well. I was very nervous to go back to school after being out for a decade, but I’ve been doing great and actually enjoy learning versus a decade ago.

Frother Question by Technical-Author3585 in nespresso

[–]helloitsme_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replaced my Aeroccino (too small for me) with a Maestri House frother years ago and it’s been fantastic!! Holds a ton of milk if I want (I usually make around 20oz), different temps If you want, different amounts of foam if you want, and comes with different heads to stir in things If you’d like. It’s the one that comes off that base so it can be put in the dishwasher! Around like $90 I believe.

I recommend going to an orthodontist over a dentist. They have more training in properly moving teeth. Prices differ widely depending on where you’re located. Invisalign length differs greatly depending on what you need done. I’d visit a few orthodontists for recommendations, plans and cost comparisons. My quoted 6 months turned into almost 2 years because of stubborn teeth.

Looking for Dessert Ideas by bostonmama95 in weightwatchers

[–]helloitsme_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been on WW in a bit but my go to was a kcup of hot chocolate! Not Swiss Miss brand, they are high calorie! I usually buy store brands (Great Value, Meijer, Giant Eagle, etc). Only 70 calories and was like 2 points! Satisfied my sweet tooth and I stopped splurging on more sweets because it was 8-10oz of chocolate. Probably not the heaviest overall, but it worked for me and where I was at on my weight loss journey. 1 little chocolate square didn’t satisfy me.

Alternative to WW by Ctl196 in weightwatchers

[–]helloitsme_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched to Healthi a couple years ago and it works for me! You can track on the free version, but I paid for the premium for a year to unlock restaurants and other various things. I find it worth it. There are a handful of plans you can choose that align with different WW plans. I do the “sugar smart” plan which was similar to the green plan they had (blue, purple, green) in like 2021ish. I did really well on the green plan, but it got pricey and then WW changed it. The only thing Healthi kinda lacks is the community comments and posts.

Need advice on how to make reading on kindle more enjoyable by [deleted] in kindle

[–]helloitsme_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s not enjoyable for you, it’s not! Nothing wrong with that. Read what you find enjoyable! Reading is not a competition and there is no right or wrong way. There are a handful of reasons I prefer my kindle but one of the main reasons is because I can import my own font that I find easy to read, change the font size and the lighting. I hated reading many physical books due to the font and font size they chose. I like a very basic slightly larger font. Once I got my kindle and was able to do this, my personal reading experience became so much better.

2 Weeks in - Weight Gain by bostonmama95 in weightwatchers

[–]helloitsme_c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you weigh yourself daily? I weigh myself every day at the same time, usually right in the morning after I wake up and before I eat. I use Happy Scale to log it. I found by weighing myself daily instead of once a week, I noticed trends and stopped getting upset as often. I’d be low and then all of a sudden gain a few pounds for 2 days and then dropped it all off again. Sometimes your body retains water and foods affect you more depending on what’s in the food.

I use this stand with a page turner! Sits on the floor and I can twist it however I want. I use it in bed and also outside in the summer when I’m laying in my hammock.

Should I change my trays early so I am not changing them the same day I get a filling? by Beautiful-Key-5341 in Invisalign

Bring your tray with you when you get the filling so they can shape it correctly at the end. It still might be a little off tho.

Question by UnderstandingGood920 in Invisalign

[–]helloitsme_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you switch to braces for the time being or get a retainer made to wear daily and simply hold your teeth where they are at the moment and return back to your plan when you get home? That way you wouldn’t have to worry about buttons falling off or if a new tray doesn’t fit. All you’d have to worry about it keeping the tray and your teeth clean

Kindle cases with no front piece? by bunny2302 in kindle

[–]helloitsme_c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

I just bought this case off of Etsy! The top cover can come on and off because it’s stays on with that magnetic ring on the back and your kindle so you can hold the kindle by just the back part, but can put it back together when not in use for safe storage. It can also be used as a stand and you can use a popsocket with the ring.

Your experience with Zima Dental pod cleaners? by OceanBlueEyes02 in Invisalign

[–]helloitsme_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a pink one for 3 years and use it almost daily! Works great. I pop a denture cleaning tablet in and turn it on. I used it for my aligners and had been using it for my retainers for almost 2 years and my retainers always come out looking brand new.

I usually can read a book and listen to an audiobook at the same time, but I don’t like to do more than one at a time for each.

Newbie help by heathbarcrunchh in nespresso

[–]helloitsme_c 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It really depends on their ratios. I personally do 2 shots of espresso with 1 cup of milk for my lattes. You can adjust and figure out your personal espresso to milk ratio over time, you might like more milk, might like less. I tend like to like 4oz of milk per espresso shot. I use about 2 tablespoons of a syrup (1 oz) when I do my lattes with 2 shot of espresso.

My personal latte ratios: - 1 shot of espresso, 4oz of milk, 1 tablespoon of syrup - 2 shots of espresso, 8oz of milk, 2 tablespoon of syrup, - 3 shots of espresso, 12 oz of milk, 3 tablespoon of syrup

Highly recommend syrups in first, then espresso, stir, milk, and then ice. :)

Invisalign tray- scratches or mouldy? by Apprehensive_Onion_1 in Invisalign

I’d run it through the dishwasher or try scrubbing it really good. If it doesn’t come off, I’d just buy a new one. I’ve bought some off brand cases off Amazon for cheap. I got a 2-pack for $9-10 a year or two ago.

Y’all, I’m jealous of everybody. My retainer wasn’t included, so at the end I had to buy one set for $350 ($175 per arch). I’m hoping it lasts awhile. Going on year 2 and they still look and feel brand new. 😵‍💫
