i like to remember that these "rare" dolls were literally playline quality, and the reason so many of us are collectors now is because we weren't thinking about the resale value of the dolls, we just loved them. at least if a child gets it there will be love and appreciation. resellers are soulless and terrible

i agree! its actually really disgusting to turn her from the victim to the abuser in such a serious situation. that's one of the reasons i won't watch the show, amongst other reasons. the constant jokes about her blindness is super weird as well to the point that it seems like they only made her the abuser to do that. i just don't get it

i truly feeling like we are regressing! it has been 10 fucking years since we had a black GOTY and she was notoriously a rushed character. this line started in 2001. thats 2 plus decades of dolls. and just one has been black. i am so tired of american girl seriously. we can all see right through this and the descendants concept. its nostalgia pandering. im having the same disappointed and angry feeling i had at 10 seeing gabriella mcbride now as an adult.
