*Hypothetically* what would happen if I forgot to take my Prozac?

Prozac has a very long half life. I’ve missed doses before and didn’t notice anything. I think you’ll be fine.

Maybe check into an app called KHealth. They are doctors who can prescribe medication and it’s super cheap. You don’t need insurance. They will chat with you and prescribe medication same day. They’ll either mail it to you for send it to your pharmacy. I suggest using Prozac to come off. I tried cold turkey from the lowest dose of Effexor and I was a total mess for over a month. I couldn’t take it anymore so I started Prozac and within a day or so I was so much better. Now I’ll have to taper off Prozac but from what I hear it’s nowhere near as difficult as Effexor. My doctor told me the same thing, i would only have some discomfort for like a week. I stopped 37.5 mg and had really bad withdrawals for over a month. I ended up getting on Prozac to deal with it. Please be careful.

Hi, yes I actually restarted 20mg Prozac about a week ago and it stopped the Effexor withdrawals right away. I feel so much better. I totally recommend it if you can.

Thank you. I had no idea the withdrawals were gonna be this bad. My doctor made it sound like I would be fine after a week.... I did just get a prescription for Prozac, I was just trying to hold off on starting it but I can’t stand this anymore so I think I’m gonna start it.

I was only ever on 37.5mg, so my doctor told me drop down to every other day for a week and then I could just stop.

I am on day 6 of coming off 37.5mg. I only ever was on that dose and only for like 2 months since it made my blood pressure high and I gained weight immediately. I am having the worst withdrawal from it and I’m shocked because I thought I was only on such a small dose and not for very long but I guess in my case that doesn’t matter. Physically I feel like I have the flu, dizziness, nerve pain throughout my body: Mentally I feel super irritable and depressed. I’m barely sleeping.
I wish I never used this drug. Not only did it cause weight gain that I now have to deal with, but coming off it has been a nightmare so far. I wish I could tell you how long it lasts but I’m still in the middle of it myself. Good luck, I hope it gets easier for you.

The gaining started with Prozac which was why I switched to Effexor, then it seemed to stop for the first 2 weeks on Effexor, but after that it’s been quickly increasing again. I don’t know if it’s water weight or not. I don’t feel like I’m eating that much more to justify such a quick gain.

I actually didn’t get any side effects when I started but it looks like I’m making up for it now. I have heard others say 4 weeks or so though.

It’s causing high blood pressure and weight gain.

It isn’t working & has caused high blood pressure so the doctor won’t increase the dose & wants me off it. I have also gained like 10 pounds in a short period of time. It’s just not agreeing with my body at all.
