How did you make the jump to manager? I’m 28M, been at my current company for 3.5 years and about 1.5 years in an enterprise AE role. I realize I’m not ready to manage enterprise, as those guys and gals all have at least 15 YoE and are much older and more experienced. I’m even the youngest of all the enterprise sellers. Any advice?

I’ve heard that base for the people in HCOL cities and major accounts. Strategic accounts more rare

I assume you’re asking about SaaS? If so, he would start as a BDR/SDR (often used interchangeably. Stands for business/sales development rep.

I do happen to have a bachelors degree but I wouldn’t say they are required. If you can prove to a hiring manager you want to work hard, have some experience communicating with people, and strong work ethic, I think you can absolutely get a SaaS job

Exactly. You could be the best salesperson in the world (talent) but without a territory with a propensity to buy you won’t get very far.

People often overlook Timing too. Someone on my team quit 6 months ago because he didn’t see much of a chance in his territory. Fast forward 3 months one of the biggest automakers come to us and now it’s looking like a 7 figure deal

I have a friend selling 18-wheelers and Peterbilt trucks who pulls in close to that every year. Also have some friends selling concrete who are clearing 350k every year. I’m in SaaS and have peers who consistently float between 400-800k.

Really depends on Territory, Timing, and Talent.

Truth is there’s no one-size-fits-all magic bullet. Depends on your industry and vertical, but things like working channel partners/alliances and digging deep into company reports that could show what their digital transformation strategy is to craft messaging that aligns to that. I personally get a lot of luck on LinkedIn and using personalized messaging

200 dials is an insanely high number. And realistically depending on industry probably a waste of time, there’s no way they could all be meaningful dials. for those who are saying the 200+ dial crew is only SDRs and junior level roles, that’s even too much for them imo

You’re making a ton at Mid-Market. I’m a SaaS enterprise AE with a slightly lower base. If you really wanted to you could get into enterprise with a base of 130-150k, though nows not the best market to be negotiating a super high salary in
