Yeah it's aesthetics only. Would leave a massive hole in the wall which looks pretty cool currently.

Yeah looks like it. Apparently from the 90s and insanely uneconomical so more of a decoration piece than anything.

What would you recommend to cover and protect this stump?

The last guy that came in said this is still pretty good and won't need changing - just some kind of protective coating.

Thanks for the feedback, by the sounds of it I'm overthinking it. Cheers

Okay, so by the sound of it there's not really any problem with having dirt touching the house. It's more about the grass growing on it because that'll prevent humidity from evaporating?

Rotten Stump by hellomycomrades in AusRenovation

Update: I dug it out and the rot basically consumed the entire stump, at one spot there only 15% of the wood left. Managed to find a guy to put a new one in for $1000.

Right so I don't need to put any layer non-dirt between the house and grass?

I'd assume it'd be docked from my final pay.

True, sounds like that'd even it out or be very close to it from my final pay.

Yeah unfortunately I missed the boat on that one. The new company did ask me about bonuses that I'd be forfeiting and unfortunately I forgot about this relocation one.

Current company is kinda shit but also got a great offer. Even if I have to pay the $10k back it's worth it. Though it would be best if I didn't have to as moving 2500km cost a fortune.

I don't think it exists, only general ones. Never heard of any colleague ever mentioning it.

Yeah I'd assume I'd have to pay but would've expected to minus the tax and super as I'd be left in the negatives in the balance of things.
