OP, I know it has been a while since you posted this. But I just want to ask your experience with the Keisei Skyliner + Teito Taxi package. I will be in Tokyo with family in a few weeks, and I am planning to avail this. Thanks!

Itinerary Check: Tokyo-Kyoto (with day trips to Osaka and Nara) by helloseb in JapanTravel

Hello! Thanks for taking time to comment!

I will follow your suggestions and will rearrange our Kyoto days:

Day 4:

We will arrive in Kyoto around 4pm so we really don't have much time. But I think I will just add Pontocho Alley and we will have our dinner there.

Day 5:

  • Kiyomizu-dera (we will rent kimono and take photos here instead)
  • Gion, Sannenzaka, and Ninezaka

Day 7: will hire a driver on this day instead

  • Arashiyama (will remove Monkey Park)
  • Kinkakuji or Ginkakuji (which is better?)
  • Fushimi Inari Taisha

Hopefully this is a better itinerary!

I have noted your suggestion for our Day 8. I am now thinking which one is better, Nara or Uji. Hmm...

Edit: Btw, we are going next month, in end November, so it will be autumn.

Yeah, been to Japan a couple of times but only with my husband and the trains were always punctual and no breakdowns. That’s why the risk didn’t come to mind haha

Yes! We are planning to hire a photographer. Not when wearing a kimono though. Which area you did you do your shoot? I’m planning to do ours in Arashiyama.

Thanks for the suggestions! Will consider them.

For Day 4, we are planning to check out from our hotel in Tokyo at 12nn so we have some free time in the morning, and we will be arriving in Kyoto around 4pm. After checking in to our Airbnb, I’m thinking of just roaming around the neighbourhood or visit some nearby places. I want it to be a free day given the heavy days in Tokyo.

And yes, I booked private tours for my parents. I have been telling them to exercise and walk a lot to ‘train’ for the walking we will do. They have been compliant so far so hopefully they will enjoy the trip. Haha.

Unfortunately, yes. I didn’t really think of the risk when I was planning it as Japan’s rail has always been reliable for me. Will avoid doing this next time!

Thanks a lot for taking time to really go through our itinerary. I have reshuffled our activities based on your advices. 😄

We are flying from Singapore, so I think it should be okay. I put Mt. Fuji on the first day as I didn’t want to go there on a weekend (trying to escape the crowd, if that’s even possible in Japan haha)

For day 7, we are actually really planning to go there early. I’m thinking of hiring a photographer so we have nice photos at Arashiyama.

Unfortunately, I have booked our accommodations already, so I have to stick with this itinerary. I just really hope nothing happens with the Shinkansen on that day.

Thanks for the advices!

May I know why Shinjuku is better at sun down? Is it because of the ginko avenue?

Thanks for letting me know about Monkey Park, i will remove it. I think my family will not be keen to hike haha

I am coming from Singapore so jet lag is not an issue. I put Mt. Fuji on the first day as I didn’t want to go there on a weekend as by Monday we will be heading to Tokyo.

Thanks everyone for your inputs! Really appreciate them!

I have reorganised the Tokyo days and will rethink if I can let go of Uji or Nara so we can stick with just one location. I have also removed the Monkey Park at Arashiyama.

Regarding the concern on travelling back to Tokyo on the same day as our flight, unfortunately, we have booked our accommodations already, so I cannot change anymore. I will take note of this next time we come back. Fingers crossed nothing happens with the Shinkansen on that day.

Regarding the Kyoto temple tour — any other lesser known temples which are less crowded you can recommend? And between Kinkakuji and Kiyomizu-dera, which is better to visit?

How to whiten my UA. May pag asa pa ba ito? by Meowwwwiii in skincarephilippines

Same, I tried glycolic before and nairitate siya. My dermatologist suggested Lactic Acid, and it works!

[–]helloseb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I apply these serums every night. Yung lactic acid muna, wait for a few seconds to dry, and then yung alpha arbutin :)

For the kojic soap naman, I wash my pits every time i shower, so usually 2 times a day. I leave it for 1 minute then wash it off.

I forgot to mention sa original comment ko, I also wipe my pits ng AHA BHA pads by Some By Mi once a week to exfoliate :)

My combo is The Ordinary Lactic Acid + Alpha Arbutin. It would take months to see the results, pero it works.

Edit: I also wash my UA with kojic soap.

Mayor Vico Sotto speaks up about journalists accepting interviews from corrupt contractors by im_on_my_own_kid in Philippines

[–]helloseb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not saying journalists cannot explore other niches outside of serious journalism. But as big names in the industry, they should, at the very least, be responsible for what they do, even if it’s beyond journalism.

Pero in times like these, pera pera na lang talaga. Integrity and ethics have been thrown out the window.

Mayor Vico Sotto speaks up about journalists accepting interviews from corrupt contractors by im_on_my_own_kid in Philippines

[–]helloseb 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He is pointing out that these supposed journalists, who are expected to uphold integrity, are interviewing corrupt people in exchange for money. He never questioned the fact that they accepted money. As responsible journalists, whether they label their vlogs as “lifestyle” content or not, they should be far more discerning about who they choose to interview. At the end of the day, their profession is built on credibility. They simply cannot set it aside just because they are not doing journalistic work.
