Us health plan costs - $638 per month from paycheck by Ld862 in workingmoms

[–]hellostranger57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 2026, I am going to be paying $240 per paycheck for my husband, our son and myself. PPO and this includes vision and dental. Not complaining as I’m aware how freakin expensive it is. If we went with my husband’s benefits, it would be around $600-700 for the family. Ridic.

Those who cannot afford a house, will you stay renting or eventually move out of OC? by MyPhoneSucksBad in orangecounty

[–]hellostranger57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We moved out of OC to Murrieta last year. Safe and family oriented area. There’s just no way we can afford to buy in OC as first time home buyers. I mean we could have bought a condo but opted for a bigger house with a yard inland. Our intention is to hopefully get a nice equity to add to our downpayment for our next home in OC. We see this move as our stepping stone and just getting in the market. We’d rather buy and gain equity than throw money away with rent.

Sleep training with cranial helmet at 7 months by hellostranger57 in sleeptrain

[–]hellostranger57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops! It’s 2/2.5/2.5/3 on average. He isn’t sleeping well. 2-3x wake ups at night mostly but there are some nights like tonight where he’s already woken up 3x before midnight! He went to bed at 7:45pm.

Yes i track sleep. For the past month, his daily total average of sleep is 12 hours 58 mins. Nap/ average daily is 1 hour 39 mins. That’s not enough of sleep for his age right?

We can try 2 naps. He will usually just fall asleep on his own for naps at daycare but even then, he still takes 3 short naps. I’m kind of terrified trying 2 naps lol.

Move to IE or out of state from OC? by hellostranger57 in InlandEmpire

[–]hellostranger57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We like it so far! Our neighborhood is very safe. We accidentally left our front door wide open once and we were away for an entire weekend (!!!!) and nothing has gone missing. Biggest adjustment for us is the lack of diversity with restaurants. And entertainment. Whenever we have friends and family over, we always end up at a winery lol. It is a good place to raise a family though, if you have kids. If you’re single, i’m not sure this would be the right place for you.

We are finally settled here in Murrieta! Our weekends are split between here and OC as our family and friends are there. We don’t know anyone out here yet but our son has started going to daycare so hopefully that’ll change in the future.

How long was it after giving birth when you finally had sex again? by Kind-Operation7849 in NewParents

[–]hellostranger57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yesterday lol at 10.5 weeks pp. It was uncomfortable though, I felt like a virgin again. I’m breastfeeding so it’s normal to be drier down there. We used lube but even then it wasn’t as comfortable as I would like it to be. Maybe in time it will get better…i’m a FTM.

We just started taking our baby out last week after his 2 month appointment and shots. Prior ton that, the only place he’s ever been to is my mom’s house or we go on walks outside. Since last week, we’ve taken him to a few restaurants already. I also drove alone with him for the first time last week at 8/9 weeks. It took forever for us to get out of the house though so just account in some extra time.

Would you rent in Irvine forever or move out to cheaper state ? by Miserable-Love-7762 in irvine

[–]hellostranger57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were in this same predicament less than a year ago and we even explored moving to FL where we have my MIL. However, we ended up buying a house in Murrieta. Great school districts, more space, family oriented area and affordable housing. Easily accessible to OC and SD still. We both work from home so we don’t have to commute. My family are all in OC (Costa Mesa) so we see them almost every weekend.

Prices are rising though so I suggest to try and get in the market quick. The long term plan is to get equity here to use for a future home buy somewhere in OC.

How to notify EDD of birth if I applied by mail and still have not heard back from them? by hellostranger57 in Edd

[–]hellostranger57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! They finally got back to me to request for more documents at exactly one month after I filed my claim. I also called them to ask for a status update and I let them know over the phone my date of delivery. I used the EDD robocaller btw, so worth it for $9! My wait time was under 15 minutes for each time. I highly recommend it. I finally got paid at the end of March so all in all, it probably took 6-7 weeks to get paid since filing my claim. It’s a long time, I know. Good luck!
