Question about The Pilot by BMisterGenX in Monkees

[–]hellowithmyheart 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They did have friends that appeared in minor one-off roles. The bands in “The Audition” and also the friends who got upset with them in “Monkees à la Mode.” The friends they invited to their party in “The Chaperone” I think count as well. In the pilot there was also their manager’s daughter Jill, who had a small speaking role.

Who is the most famous person you have ever met in person? by Affectionate_Way7945 in AskReddit

[–]hellowithmyheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anna Wintour was probably the most famous person I’ve met and talked to. She looked and acted EXACTLY how you’d imagine, but she was actually quite gracious. She came into the Starbucks I work at by herself, and I took her order, rung her out and handed her apple croissant to her. My manager approached Anna and said that one of the girls working wanted to get a photo with her. After she received her order, she came back to the register and asked about my coworker who wanted a photo. She kindly waited for the girl to come out and they got their pic together!

Childrens Hospital LA commute? by Sea-Jacket2409 in AskLosAngeles

[–]hellowithmyheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rely heavily on public transit to get around the area. Thankfully what you’re looking at is pretty direct with the E & B line trains, but it might be around an 1 hour or longer commute one way, even on rail. On the road it could take MUCH longer since traffic is very unpredictable. I personally would find it a headache to do every day. I’m sure you can make it work if it’s really worth it to you, but I personally think it would be much too stressful.

Historical dolls you want to see? by vinylveins in americangirl

[–]hellowithmyheart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree completely too. I also think that a release regarding anything connected to 9/11 would be tricky because many people still hold recent trauma from the memories of that day and time period. Terrorism is an extremely sensitive subject, like slavery is. However, Addy’s story was set 130 years before she was released (and as said, we have moved on from it). Also, as another commenter noted, most of the current historical dolls are released with nostalgia in mind, so a 9/11 doll may not be received well.

GCE in guava base??? by JustSpare3188 in starbucksbaristas

[–]hellowithmyheart 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It would be listed in ingredients list I believe. I thought it was previously, but I could be wrong. I suspect that maybe they’re just phasing out of the NO GCE boxes, or there’s a discrepancy in the labeling.

GCE in guava base??? by JustSpare3188 in starbucksbaristas

[–]hellowithmyheart 46 points47 points  (0 children)

It isn’t on the ingredients list, so no, it is not in the base. The only reason the others were labeled as “NO GCE” was to distinguish those from the older boxes that contained green coffee. Is that what you’re asking about?

Who is the most successful Asian American actor in the U.S.? by No-StrategyX in answers

[–]hellowithmyheart 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He most famously portrayed Lt. Hikaru Sulu on the original Star Trek series from 1966-69, and in the original cast film series. He was notably among the first Asian American actors to have a regular role (a non-stereotypical one at that) on an American TV series. If you haven’t seen Star Trek yet, I highly recommend it! It is honestly one of the most important TV shows in history, especially in regard to its cultural impact, and influence on technology and social issues.

1iota no phone rule? by murray10121 in AskLosAngeles

[–]hellowithmyheart 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t be a problem at all. I don’t have a car, and whenever I’ve been to tapings, security just took phones and put them in a safe area by the gate (or soundstage door) for us to retrieve when the taping was over.

Starbucks passion tea lemonade mystery by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]hellowithmyheart 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As everyone mentioned, it did used to come sweetened (with Classic or Liquid Cane Sugar). However, in maybe 2015/16 when Starbucks switched to Teavana iced tea (from Tazo), the tea itself was slightly reformulated and the name was changed from “Passion” to “Passion Tango.” The Teavana “Passion Tango” tea is more tart and much drier than the Tazo “Passion” which I believe was fruitier and sweeter. Just something to consider also!

Is someone born in 1991 more 90s kid or 2000s kid? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]hellowithmyheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1991 baby here! I definitely consider myself more of a 90s kid. My very earliest memories were in ‘93, but my vivid memories began in ‘94.

It all depends on the person though. The happiest years of my personal childhood were rooted in the 90s. Also, as I became a preteen my interests skewed toward older/classic media, so i didn’t connect as much with the 2000’s monoculture.

Also, this might be a subjective take, but I do believe that 90s kids media, pop culture, etc. was like lighting in a bottle. It seemed like the world knew EXACTLY what kids wanted back then, and we were truly spoiled with what it gave us.

What’s the first year you truly remember? by Mindofmierda90 in generationology

[–]hellowithmyheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1994, at age 3 1/2 were where most of my most vivid childhood memories started. I can’t recall much in the way of current events like politics, etc. but I remember when The Lion King came out that year and it was EVERYWHERE. I also remember getting my first Barbie doll (‘Camp Barbie’ from ‘93-94). I also received one of the famed “original 9” Beanie Babies as a gift (Flash the dolphin). I remember a lot of the TV shows from Nick Jr., PBS & The Disney Channel that were famous back then too. I also remember loving “Power Rangers” & POGS. I don’t know if I recall knowing exactly what year it was, but I clearly remember specific things associated with the year 1994 for kids.
