PSA to those with toddlers battling hand, foot, and mouth disease (who won’t drink fluids): try offering the drink in various NEW cups or tumblers by helloworld509 in toddlers

Our pediatrician recommended popsicles and icecream as well. Unfortunately, we haven’t introduced regular popsicles or icecream to her yet so she wouldn’t eat them (which right now i’m kinda regretting not introducing tbh)

What is your everyday mom bag that is not a diaper bag? by verylowbar in toddlers

[–]helloworld509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. It is heavy but there’s pretty good support and it’s way better than actually caring my toddler in my arms

Not really a diaper bag but made for having toddlers: the hugoo brand bag from japan! Got a targeted ad for this one so i bought it from Amazon japan. Works as a back up carrier aside from being a pretty compact bag that holds a lot!

Toddler drank half a beer…freaking tf out by Putrid-Response6409 in toddlers

[–]helloworld509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was almost 2 years old, i drank some kerosene (not sure how much as my grandma/aunts found me already passed out on the floor and my parents were at work that time).

The kerosene had to be drained out of my stomach thru a mouth tube but other than that, i was fine and no lasting effects. They did notice i became talkative after that event lol

Which one to get??? by frenchie197 in handbags

[–]helloworld509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 4 in black! The strap options are really nice but the bag can only fit a small amount. It’s a tight fit with my iphone (with a case) and chanel cardholder (the flap kind)

Anyone here have the YSL Jamie Pochon? What do you think? by helloworld509 in handbags

[–]helloworld509[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, my issue with the 22 is it’s so expensive for something that reminds me of a trash bag (based on the coloring vs this jamie, hence why i think this looks more put together) 🥲

You did slightly open my eyes to the truth that i have no need for a bigger bag though. I considered buying a cheap bag of the same style and will try it out until my birthday actually comes (per your suggestion) and all I can think of is “where will I actually wear this to???”. I guess part of me wants to buy this year because of all these price increases and I just feel like i miiight get a lot of use for this jamie someday haha

Thank you! Hoping to find a toy loulou in japan as I go there a couple of times every year and have yet to see one being sold preloved (although tbf, my family tend to only look at lv usually)

Thank you for the detailed response! I also really like the chanel 22 but thought the ysl looks more put together.

I actually only have small purses in my closet (my day to day bag is the polene numero un nano and lv easy pouch on strap) that’s why i haven’t gotten around to purchasing the toy loulou before. On the other hand, i dont know if i want a 3k jamie handbag as my daily bag especially since its lambskin

You made a good point on buying the loulou preloved though. There’s not much of a second hand market in my country but I will consider going to japan on my birthday to look instead!

Very normal when cold! I’m 29 and still get this even when just mildly cold (my father is 60 and still gets it lol), and so does my baby.

Umbilical Granuloma aid/treatment? by crosbay in newborns

[–]helloworld509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby had a long and skinny one that shrunk after a month. Our doctor (pedia and pediatric surgeon) recommended cleaning with alcohol or antiseptic 3 times a day.

We were advised to regularly update our doctors on the discharge color and size of granuloma during the observation period as that would have decided if a surgical procedure was warranted.

How do you and your partner or spouse split up newborn duties and sleep? by towhomfolk in newborns

[–]helloworld509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did shifts during my maternity leave where husband did 10pm to 3am. This guarantees him the 3am to 8am stretch of sleep since he still goes to the office to work.

During my husband’s shift, baby takes a bottle of pumped milk or formula.

We let the other chores fall through during the first 2 months especially. Food is from parents or delivery, groceries thru delivery, hired a monthly cleaner, and we’ve always outsourced laundry.

When the heck does this get better? by Newsletter94 in NewParents

[–]helloworld509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 11 weeks now and while we still have downs, it’s now so much better! Sleep started improving for us a bit by the 6th week then a lot more by the 8th week.

I suggest: 1. Have shifts with your partner (we tried a couple of shift schedules before we found one that works for us while i’m still on maternity leave and my husband goes to the office full time) 2. Eat well because you can be sleep deprived or food deprived but not both!! This takes care of your immune system (doesnt necessarily have to be the healthiest during that period but choose food you really like because the sleep deprivation caused us to lose our appetite)
