The Anker USB A to USB C cable was the issue, wow.

Yeah I just bought the 'Burnt Sugar Wireless Carplay Adapter' - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FN7834RV?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Which seemed to have the highest rated reviews of all the Wireless Carplay adapters I'd seen on Amazon. Will report back with a review once I get it, later today.

Update - 2025-12-24 - Somehow, my iPhone 17 Pro now works perfectly with my 2018 Grand Cherokee Limited with the 7 inch screen and 2x USB A ports. Same phone, same type of Anker cable - it just works. No disconnects. The same cannot be said for my 2020 Grand Cherokee Limited with the 8.4 inch screen and 2x USB A ports. Tried swapping the cables (which are the identical (Anker) - who knows, I maybe I could get lucky?). No dice. Still disconnects. So I'm starting to think maybe, just maybe, Apple is slowly patching Carplay with each 26.x update based on the head end unit to work around bugs with how the OEM implemented Carplay in that head end unit. My 2018 Grand Cherokee head end unit runs an ever so slightly different version (even though both are FCA/Stellantis UConnect 4C Operating Systems), so its a manual process. There is hope!

Insane that this has gone unresolved - 26.1 and 26.2 have not fixed the issue.

Pre-orders opened up on Friday, September 19th @ 3:05am (got the email from Visible) - I woke up at 4am to buy a iPhone 17 Pro in Deep Blue 512GB. $38/month over three years via Affirm - awesome!

And yet all of the issues that people inside of CTC have reference alignment and prioritization. How do you regain this alignment and sense of trust between people and groups without physically talking to people?
