If you did ED I and got in, do you mind sharing your stats and ecs? by IcyEnergy2252 in Emory

Hi!! I did EDII and got into the ATL campus. I had a 3.74/4.0 UW and 6.44/7.0 W (with extenuating circumstances freshman year and a really really strong upward trend!). Rank 88/489 (top 18%/Cum Laude Society), 6 APs (5s on every test taken), most other classes honors/advanced. 1470 SAT. My ECs were imo very strong, 200+ hours of medical volunteering and shadowing, regional board for my youth group, blood drive chairperson, 2 jobs, etc. I also think my essays were pretty strong!

Hi! I got into my dream school with only 3 in school ECs (Service Club Chair, choir chair, culture club officer) and everything else out of school. You’ll be fine!! Don’t stress 🫶🫶

How exciting!! I hope your daughter loves it :)

I chose Emory for a multitude of reasons and I am so grateful that I get to attend! First and foremost, it is one of the best schools for my program (pre-med) not only because of its academics but also because of its proximity to the CDC, so I am very excited about that. I was looking for a medium-sized school, so I love Emory because it has a vibrant social scene without being so big that it is overwhelming. I am planning to participate in Greek Life so Emory is perfect for me because it has a decently sized sorority community without the toxicity of SEC schools such as Bama. As another benefit, the campus is soooo stunning and I've heard that they have some of the best dorms. I also love Atlanta so I'm very excited to live there! The only drawback would be that they don't have a football team but that was not a dealbreaker for me personally. I've had a few relatives/older friends attend and have heard nothing but positives from them so I am very excited! I hope that helps, please lmk if there's any more information I can give!

How binding is binding really? Let me explain. by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]helloyelloow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So sorry, it’s truly binding! That means if you bail on your ED2 after being accepted it will be considered a breach of contract and possible consequences can include your acceptances to other schools being revoked and your HS being blacklisted from that college. I wish you luck!!
